I totally understand from where you’re coming from. Nna am just glad I only have to deal with only two colors. I personally have guys from outside the country at multiple farms and I don’t have to teach anyone complex issues when I could be teaching other more important for the farm.

In my culture we have over twenty colors if not more that identify the skin/coat of cows. Multiply those by two for male and female specificity and the same number of colors in between for further differentiation. As it gets more complex and tongue twisting, I am honestly not too keen to keep up with them. I have chose my lane and it has only two coat colors. The Black Angus and the Red Angus. 🤣🥰😍👊🏾

Semen from these Bulls will soon be available if not already. Some of these bull warrant some serious conversations of the positive kind and those are the discussions you need to be around for when they happen.

There seems to be a huge misunderstanding of the “visual” difference between a Boran and a Brahman. Having seen both breeds and semi-intimately acquainted to one by way of personal proximity to renowned breeders of the Brahman, I think I can confidently say; the two main differences are the ears and most shockingly the superior LARGER and TOWERING SIZE of the Brahman over the Boran. Brahmans are much taller and longer.

Finally..! There she is with her newly minted bundle of joy at hoof. A well rounded Bull Calf is our latest addition to our pure bred side and I can stand to once again attest to that Aberdeen Angus trait that I hold highly of “ease of calving”. After all these years we have never had to assist with a birth. Mother is doing as well as the calf. That marks our close to the season.

Labor pains were seriously dealing with her earlier this afternoon. From her posture and demeanor, I wouldn’t be surprised to find a calf by her side in the AM. Am calling Bull Calf and wife is calling for a little Heifer but deep down I’m also rooting for Heifer Calf.

She is currently not a solid black, but the ring of black around her eyes, nose and black tail-tip already give away her true “to be” mature color. She will shed her calf coat after this coming winter season and eventually be that solid Angus Black heifer. She is sired by “MSB-Balance”, our current herd Sire, who is dropping us some beautiful top tier Black and Red Calves with Black being primary..!

Two-Row (Paired Row) Planting of Maize Two-row planting is a method where maize is planted in pairs of rows that are close together, and then a larger space is left before the next pair of rows. Distance between the two rows in a pair:45 cm Distance between pairs: 90 cm Distance between plants in a row: 25cm ADVANTAGES 1. Better Use of Land The arrangement allows more plants per area while still giving enough space for growth 2. Easier Farm Operations The wide space between pairs allows: -easy weeding -fertilizer application -spraying -intercropping 3. Higher Yield Potential Because plants receive: -better sunlight -better air circulation -less competition for nutrients 4. Good for Intercropping Farmers can plant crops like: -beans -groundnuts -soybeans in the wide spaces between the paired rows. 4. Simple Example of Population With correct spacing, you can have about 44,000-53,000 maize plants per hectare, which is ideal for good yield

Botswana has strategically positioned herself to potentially be the primary exporter of beef cattle genetics into Afrika. If executed properly with the right protocols developed flowing both ways, Afrika will see herself with access to both Semen and Embryos coming from both Government and Private Farmers’ who have for years invested heavily in not only top but elite genetics of various breeds from all over the world harvested from animals which importantly have proven themselves in the harsh Botswana climate. >i<

@_Gerenuk These are not Boran bulls..! They are Brahman bulls of the Bo’s-Indicus group of cattle. Bos indicus, commonly known as zebu or humped cattle, are a subspecies of domestic cattle originating from the Indian subcontinent of which the Boran is not but I could be mistaken.

@MeatmasterBW I am looking at a Boran. This breed is already an African breed and not indigenous to Botswana.

All I know is Botswana Beef being amongst the best in the world when it comes to taste. People travel thousands of kilometers to have a taste of this quality of beef as developed for years through infusion of some of the best breeds from around the world. I don’t know much about Chad or Chad Beef but I can tell you a lot about Botswana beef and how it’s raised which is why it’s exported to some of the world’s most exquisite markets when talking about dining. Maybe Chad beef does the same, I don’t know. Am just talking about Botswana exporting her “quality” beef genetics to Africa and it definitely has nothing to do with National herd numbers. 👊🏾

@MeatmasterBW @enkudheni Chad has the biggest herd per capita in Africa which is made up of indigenous heritage cattle that are not vaccinated. Why should Botswana provide the genetics instead of Chad?
