Just learnt of the violent abduction, this morning, of former Kampala Lord Mayor, Advocate Erias Lukwago as he prepared to serve Court Summons upon Museveni’s son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba. Lukwago is a lead lawyer in the bogus treason case against Dr. Kizza Besigye, and in a case Besigye filed against Muhoozi for abducting him from Kenya, torturing, and undertaking to kill him from prison. On Muhoozi's orders, military men have raided and abducted Lukwago from his home in Wakaliga before whisking him away in a drone to an unknown destination. The abduction has been confirmed and closely followed by posts on Twitter from Muhoozi, boasting that he has taken him to the "basement" to torture him just like he did to comrade Eddie Mutwe in April 2025! I call upon all of us to REJECT and RESIST this brazen impunity. UGANDA WILL BE FREE!

. @mkituuma "In our initial statement, there was an unintended misrepresentation suggesting that the incident had not occurred. This resulted from a communication gap in the preliminary information received from Kiwatule Police Station. We regret this shortfall and wish to provide the correct position. The incident was duly reported at Kiwatule Police Station under Kira Road Division, and investigations were subsequently initiated under CRB 064/2026. The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 PM in Kazinga Zone, Kiwatule Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala City. Preliminary findings indicate that a client searching for rental property online through Jiji Uganda got in contact with Lubega Fahad (30), who allegedly presented himself as a property agent. After inspecting premises in Kyanja and agreeing on rental terms of UGX 3 million per month, the client was reportedly instructed to deposit UGX 12 million, covering three months’ rent and a security deposit, into a DTB bank account registered in the names of Lubega Fahad. On 2 June 2026 at approximately 2:00 PM, the complainant made the payment at Metroplex Mall. Upon revisiting the property, the complainant was informed by the caretaker that the house was not available for rent but was instead being offered for sale. Efforts to reverse the transaction were unsuccessful as the funds had already been withdrawn. The complainant was advised to formally report the matter to Police. However, he later received information that the suspect had been sighted at the bank. Upon returning, he found that the suspect had already been apprehended. It is alleged that the suspect later escaped from the bank while under the watch of the bank security guard, prompting members of the public to pursue and assault him. Police found that the suspect had already been apprehended and appeared weak, although no visible torture marks were observed at the time. The suspect was subsequently taken to Kiwatule Police Station for custody but passed on shortly after arrival. The body was conveyed to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examination. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding both the alleged fraud and the subsequent mob action remain ongoing. The Uganda Police Force strongly condemns acts of mob justice and urges members of the public to hand over suspects to law enforcement agencies for proper handling in accordance with the law. We once again regret the earlier miscommunication and reaffirm our commitment to providing accurate, timely, and accountable information to the public.

Indeed, Ugandans are being exploited, and the government seems completely unbothered. How does a company like M-KOPA give someone a phone with a market value of UGX 400,000, only for the customer to end up paying UGX 1.4 million through installment payments? What kind of outrageous interest rate is this? At what point do we stop normalizing the exploitation of ordinary Ugandans under the guise of “financial inclusion”? How much longer will citizens continue to be trapped in systems designed to profit from their desperation while those responsible look the other way?

When my late dad introduced me to Chelsea football club Cucurella wasn’t a Chelsea player so why should I be sad?😂😂I watched Hazard,Lampard,Terry,Drogba, and Cech leave after all the trophies and glory they brought to this club but I should be sad because Cucurella left😂😂
