The RSPCA is looking for a man after a ginger cat was found taped inside a pet carrier, wrapped in a bin bag, and thrown over a fence into a garden in Basildon, Essex. The three-year-old cat was taken to a vet, where it was found to have no injuries but was clearly stressed. A CCTV image of the man, described as white and wearing glasses, a dark jacket, and a light blue T-shirt, has been released as investigators appeal for witnesses.

@hashjenni This has enraged me more than I can say. Oh if only I could type what I'm thinking in my head.

there’s a special place in heII reserved for these trophy hunters
timi@Timiii360
Local villagers said he was a 2 year old elephant. In his death he folded his legs as if he were still a baby.

@LizKershawDJ So sorry Liz. He was a proper DJ. Such a sad loss x
English

@SamaHoole I agree and want to give these more often to my husband with Dementia but worry about the BPA lined tin. What do you think?
English

Nobody has ever given a full-throated sales pitch for a tin of sardines. That is a market gap.
Allow me.
The tin is food-grade steel, lined, sealed, oxygen removed. The environment inside is more controlled than most restaurant kitchens you have eaten in happily and without incident.
No preservatives. Canning is heat and the absence of oxygen. Just the fish, suspended exactly as they were the day the boat came in.
The omega-3s survive it. Studies comparing fresh to tinned show no meaningful difference in EPA and DHA. The fish was caught, canned within hours, and the fatty acids went nowhere.
The bones are edible. They have been sitting in olive oil long enough to become soft, and they are the calcium delivery mechanism the sardine built for itself. You eat them. That is the intended use.
What the tin actually contains: EPA and DHA in immediately usable form. Selenium, iodine, B12, CoQ10, vitamin D, calcium, complete protein with every essential amino acid.
Your protein shake has twenty-three ingredients. The sardine grew its own nutrition in the North Atlantic and asked for nothing.
A food humans have eaten since before written history now apparently requires a defence.
Buy the tin.

@NaturallyFTW Ah was hoping you was in the UK! Really wanted to try this.

❗️ I've NEVER taken a single vax, of any kind, in my life.
I don't take pharmaceuticals.
I've always been super healthy. Zero health issues.
ONE exception: as I neared 40, my skin started looking...not great.
I became Obsessed w/finding out WHY. & eventually... I found the way to REVERSE SKIN AGING.
I trust Nature, not Pharma. Nor harsh things like injecting Botox.
So I started looking for Natural solutions to unf*ck my skin. To fix my fine lines, dullness, & dehydration.
One problem: all of the currently available natural solutions DIDN'T WORK. It actually seemed like they made my skin Worse.
So I decided to put my 20+ yr background in Natural Medicine & research to good use.
I spent 2+ Years looking at what the data had to say regarding the cause of skin aging & potential natural solutions.
First, I found out the cause is not just "getting older." Unnatural things we're exposed to on a daily basis are making things much worse.
Modern things like: unbalanced light spectrums (we're exposed through windows), dry winter heating systems, harsh blue light, pollution, massively antioxidant & nutrient deficient food supply
...are massively aging our skin, rapidly & PREMATURELY.
Not my idea of a good time. So I searched for options to combat all of this.
At first, I found some supplements that had good data (NMN, lactoferrin, astaxanthin, polypodium, etc.), & they helped.
But I learned that to directly target skin, topical application of active ingredients can be EXTREMELY effective (studies show).
On the flipside, topical application of the wrong things can be extremely Harmful to skin & wreck the skin barrier.
Not to mention the possible health implications, since there are common ingredients that are CARCINOGENIC & endocrine-disrupting. (Skin is porous. Things can be absorbed through it).
Plainly: Most skin stuff/creams, serums, etc...are crap.
They're all basically an overpriced package of ~90% water, plus preservatives.
Even the 'natural' stuff contains hidden, harmful BS (there's a loophole where synthetic ingredients can be hidden, not listed as ingredients).
Natural trends like tallow & castor oil aren't great either. They're unbalanced in terms of fatty acids, & have low anti-aging efficacy.
BUT there are some natural things I came across that DO work & give INSANE RESULTS. Some examples (topical application):
• PTEROSTILBENE (found in blueberries) → ↑ elasticity +33% in 28 days, human study.
• COQ10 (0.3%) → hugely reduced wrinkle depth in human trials
• ASTAXANTHIN → one of the world's most powerful antioxidants. Benefits shown: less wrinkles, more elasticity + UV damage protection
• BLACK SEED OIL → "The cure for everything but death." Massively inhibits collagen-degrading enzymes
• WHITE TEA → even more powerful than green tea for skin. (Have you seen the crazy case study on green tea + red light? It basically erases wrinkles).
If you do any type of red light/sun therapy...you need to apply green or (even better) White Tea to get max benefits.
Just to name a few.
So the next logical question was — how do I get these on my skin!?
I looked all over & was severely disappointed. Most skincare manufacturers haven't done the research, use the wrong things...or are just lazy.
For example — have you seen the newest human studies on pterostilbene (a better-absorbed "cousin" to resveratrol)?
It's insanely anti-aging, & UV protective for skin. But it's actually challenging to put this into a natural formula. Not impossible...just challenging.
So a natural product with the correct amount of pterostilbene did not exist.
Fed up, I eventually, I began making my own skin serum.
I packed in all of the best, data-backed natural things I found during my research.
Over many months of testing, tweaking and sharing it with my friends... I literally crafted the best skin serum ever.
It's utterly transformed my 43-yr-old skin. To the point where people keep asking me what I'm doing.
Zero synthetic BS. No water, no unnatural preservatives. Glass-bottled (because f*ck microplastics).
It's actually the perfect thing to use in both the summer & winter.
In extreme cold, it keeps my skin hydrated & nourished.
In summer — I LOVE basking in the sun, daily. The sun provides incredible health benefits (vitamin D, red light, mood & weight benefits) — but these benefits are Blocked via sunscreen.
When getting my daily UV benefits, I apply it ~30m before.
I no longer get any redness or sun spots. And it actually faded some sun spots/freckles I had previously.
You cannot find anything like this in stores or online. Believe me, I've tried.
So I've decided to make my skin serum available to those who want it. Not sure how long I will do this for. (But if enough people want it, I'll make sure it's available...)
Check it out on my site.
There, you'll also find a bunch of info + dozens of studies...
(that anyone interested in learning about natural products & not looking old & raggedy before their time would get value from).

@markeology Wishing you all the best I'm sure she will be fine. Hopefully she will be happy and can keep up with her wonderful art. Good luck!
English

@Pinkdaisylemon1 I'm so sorry to hear that, and I appreciate the heads up. We never know what the future will bring.
English

A quick little message from Ani herself this morning
Mark Wright@markeology
My daughter Annika is proudly autistic and 12 years old. She drew this butterfly from a photo she took herself — every vein, every scale, rendered by hand on a tablet. She signs everything she makes. Dates it. Like she already knows it matters. She's turning 13 tomorrow. Please share this for her birthday. Let's make her day.
English

@markeology We did the same thing.
Local prestigious private schools. Then a specialist school where they wanted him to board but he was so unhappy I ended up driving over 200 miles a day taking him back and forth. He would cry his heart out and it just broke me.
English

I'm so sorry to hear that. We're working on transferring Ani to a private school this fall where there is a much higher percentage of neurodivergent kids and a segment of their faculty and staff devoted to their needs, as well as a fantastic art program. She's really excited about the prospect and we're hoping it'll be really good for her.
English

@markeology I understand. My eldest has Asperger's and other issues. He was so gifted as a kid but the bullying he endured plus being ostracised blighted his life. He was very talented both academically and musically but was too unhappy to make the most of it. Life can be so hard for them.
English

@Pinkdaisylemon1 Thank you for encouraging her! I have to be very gentle about it. If I push too hard it makes her not want to do it, but if I don't give her little nudges she sometimes just forgets (she has ADHD in addition to her autism; AuDHD, they call it)
English

@markeology Happy birthday Annika! I have only just found your art but I love it! Please keep making your beautiful pictures for us all to look at!

@ValerieAnne1970 @SBakerMD Eating some now, I love it! I always put a dollop of cottage cheese in with my scrambled egg mix, makes it soft and creamy. I love the coconut combo with this! So glad I saw your comment!
English

@Pinkdaisylemon1 @SBakerMD Hope you love it as much as I do!! It is a flavor combo unlike any other!
English

@ValerieAnne1970 @SBakerMD I'm trying this today! Love coconut
English

@SBakerMD I love to cook my scrambled eggs in unrefined virgin coconut oil. The flavor combination is 'out of this world'!! I use tallow, butter, ghee & lard for all other cooking....but my eggs are always in coconut oil.

@Bet44Lin40085 @juneslater17 Oh yes! My mum used to put them out in a bowl on the side. The smell was amazing and the excitement palpable!
English

@juneslater17 Is it just me or is anyone else sad that the smell of a tangerine no longer evokes Christmas 🤭 only time we had them - hanging in a sock (not a crafted Santa stocking ) at the end of your bed 😂😂..had feck all to do with no Elf on a Shelf either - or did it ???🤔🤣

The suck it up post for Boomer Angst
Yes I'm a boomer I bought my first home in 1979 for £4.56p it had rocketed in value to £10,000 just after my husband carried me over the doorstep some hours later.
I often changed jobs because there were plenty of them.
Politicians wore normal suits and bum bashing was a secret passtime only divulged because Jeremy Thorpe's hitman was a really bad shot and the whistleblower went to the papers.
Being gay and married was frowned upon in politics, now it's a goal!
I only knew one female MP..that was Barbara Castle she had really
back combed red hair that was only washed after the nesting season when the young had fledged.
The Prime Minister was Harold Wilson when I was a kid. smoked a pipe my dad wanted to shove it up another one of Mr Wilson's orifices ...preferably lit!
There was a bloke called Jim who was prime minister once, he had the same surname as Dirty Harry and was really shit at his job that's when they invented Margaret Thatcher . They thought she was going to be really shit too and they could blame all Jim's shit on her, but it didn't work
She was pretty good, unless you were a miner then she was a Twatter.
Life started getting really lavish, we had chip shops and take aways , Italian restaurants with waiters called Luigi who were really good at making girls pregnant.
A pub crawl would cost nearly £3 quid, or £3.25 if you caught the bus home .
Cars didn't have head rests and Jimmy Savile hadn't started flogging seatbelts as only some cars had them
No one could spell pedophile because we didn't know we had any,
We trusted the BBC.
It's a knock out was a game show, not a boxing result and people stayed in to watch
The Generation Game because there were prizes you only ever dreamed of, like toasters and chip pans and leatherette car seat covers and a cuddly toy.
A night out involved beer and a delicacy called scampi in a basket , not a real basket a plastic one so the tartar sauce didn't run out.
People showed off about having central heating put in and buying Tupperware.
Cobblers were craftsmen who repaired your shoes it wasn't a rebuke.
Nobody had fancy dogs
Women never mentioned the menopause they just looked like they'd been caught shoplifting, all red faced and sweaty then it would pass ..
It was the worst of times, the best of times ...
We didn't get a choice 😉
English

@AMonty1917 @juneslater17 Smashed my wrist to pieces day after day with clackers! But I just kept doing it 🤣
English

@juneslater17 June that's great!
You forgot to mention if a boy asked if you'd like acride on his chopper it was ok and you wouldn't get pregnant.
Broken ankles with platform shoes and broken wrists with clackers. Yes, it was the best of times.☺️
