🚨 JUSTICE SERVED: LIFE SENTENCES FOR CHILD TRAFFICKERS 🚨
Three Zimbabwean nationals have been handed multiple life sentences for operating a heartless human trafficking syndicate that targeted defenseless orphans.
Here is how the massive cross-border plot was crushed by South African authorities:
The scheme began to unravel on 1 August 2022 at OR Tambo International Airport. Hilda Tenenga was stopped while trying to board a flight with four minor children using forged identification papers.
Meticulous probes by Warrant Officer Claas Ranthakgoa revealed that Tenenga used fake documents to traffic these children out of South Africa to Ireland.
Further operations led to the arrest of Sthembiso Mlauzi and Kumbirai Andrew Masimo. They had been playing a sick game of dress-up—posing as family members to facilitate moving the children across international borders unlawfully.
Senior State Advocate Makwena Mokwatedi told the court that the trio ruthlessly exploited the extreme vulnerability of the children, who were already orphans.
Acting Judge Bokako didn't hold back, dealing out the heavy hammer of justice:
■ 4 Terms of Life Imprisonment each for trafficking in persons.
■ 12 years for fraud.
■ 15 years for possession of fraudulent documents.
■ 2 years for violating the Immigration Act.
The additional sentences will run concurrently with the life terms. The National Prosecuting Authority of South Africa welcomed the sentencing as a massive victory in the fight to protect vulnerable children from exploitation.
