The idea that Greeks are generally lazy is a myth. Greece's problem is its lingering statism and a skepticism towards entrepreneurship. This attitude maintains completely inefficient structures that make those who do work having to even work more to sustain the rest.

@NextDefault_ @AkkadSecretary Yeah, we have those, really useful if you have a lamp in the corner or something. But usually, the switch is not part of the receptacle, it's usually on the wall with the rest of the switches.

Im pretty sure it dates back to the dawn of electricity into homes so you could like turn lamps off or something and it just stayed because it means you dont gotta pull the plug

You may remember this design from Helios 1 in Fallout New Vegas, they are real and sit on the California side of the border in the Mojave.
Like everything California, looks fancy but they are a design failure.
producing 40% of expected output at 20¢/kWh at 29% efficiency for almost $3B.
Which is why next to it and on the other side you see normal solar plants, Copper Mountain Solar 3 at 22% the cost to construct produces 77% the output of all the towers combined.
TLDR the design seems shit

China’s solar power plant in Dunhuang uses around 12,000 mirrors to focus sunlight onto a central tower, heating molten salt to extreme temperatures. That heat is stored and used to generate electricity on demand, including after sunset.
