Speculation ramped up around the next Fed Chair, with BlackRock’s Rick Rieder suddenly viewed as the betting favorite, a candidate that markets view as a pragmatic and more centrist alternative. Posting modest declines for a second-straight week, the S&P 500 slipped 0.3% on the week. Natural Gas spot prices soared 35% as freezing conditions gripped much of the Central and Eastern time zones. WTI Crude Oil rose 3% on the week to climb above $61/barrel after the White House ramped up pressure against Iran. The frenzied precious metals rally continued this week, as Gold prices surged near $5,000 per ounce, while Silver prices surged nearly 15% to record-highs of over $100 per ounce. Real estate equities stumbled as renewed rate volatility reintroduced pressure on rate-sensitive sectors. Following its best week since last April, the Equity REIT Index slipped 2.3%. @Starlitblond I had one, it’s silver for “Silver Anniversary Edition” over very dark navy blue w/seat inserts in blue/white plaid. Porsche Flat 6 generating 165hp, felt like 300. Why? Light car 2800lbs. 5-speed, great to drive around town and highway is awesome. Miss it dearly.

Are REITs overpriced? Many Buy Side Experts think so - why? They tell me 2021 REIT stock prices & asset values were a mirage not supported by fundamentals. It was the last of low rates (1.50% 10-yr T’s) & investors paid prices for everything w/tons of cheap debt No more.
