“Stop serving boring, plain deviled eggs, this best-ever version has a secret ingredient—“ Stop. Serve a fantastic plain deviled egg. Deviled eggs trying to be fancy are mid. They are an afront to the deviled egg. Serve a fantastic plain deviled egg. Don’t listen to lies.

In honor of our brother passing into glory, give me your best Chuck Norris jokes. I like to think that he got a kick out of them.

I'll admit that an account focused on mass followership is going to post to a lower common denominator, but imagine if you will, a world where there was orchestra music being written that was just as good in every way to those greats in the past. Hard to even imagine.

99% of posts from larger accounts focused on Classical music: - "This day in history..." - "Happy 279th birthday to..." They could never have success as an account posting orchestra music composed recently

I perhaps have underestimated how much a religious adherence to "equality" has affected the arts. There is no greatness anymore because that would mean another thing is less great, and it is a sin to ever impart that judgment. The scribble is just as great as the portrait because it would be a sin to say otherwise. One thing cannot be better or worse than another because it destroys the whole religion of equality. We must flatten out all hierarchy and distinction. We must tear down every vestige of value from the past because they said that certain things were better than other things.

Company calls me I answer. "Hey, this is [Company Name.]" We have a conversation. I hang up. Verizon Call Filter gives me a banner notification that [Company Name] called me. ??? What is the purpose?

One of the greatest misfortunes of liberalism was unhitching our wagons from the Western traditions of art. Portraiture traded for scribbles. Statues for vague political gestures. Symphonies for sqeaks and sound effects. It was all on purpose.

@musicandroots Lot of truth to this. Liberals apparently have century-long culture-shifting plans, but conservatives have a knee-jerk "What's in it for me personally" reaction to having to do anything to advance their cultural wishes

Conservatives don’t just avoid academia because they’re persecuted against. It’s deeper than that. Conservatives have a culture problem. Too many are anti-intellectual, risk-avoidant, and hyper-capitalist. That all tends to lead away from pursuing an academic career.
Brian Fitzpatrick@btfitzpat

Is it really possible to get more conservatives in academia? I have some bad news: it is going to be difficult. lawliberty.org/diversifying-t…
