If you watched Project Hail Mary but haven’t read the book yet, you might have wondered why Rocky first built a wall inside the tunnel between Hail Mary and the Blip-A with only one small window and only later replaced it with a fully transparent barrier. You could assume he was copying Hail Mary’s hatch, with its small round window, or playing it safe in case something dangerous came out of the human ship. But the book gives the real answer. Rocky doesn’t see. He understands the world through sound. So when he built the first divider, he wasn’t thinking "What if the alien needs to look through it?". He was thinking like an Eridian engineer! He filled the wall with different kinds of xenonite, hoping at least one of them would let the alien from the other ship communicate through sound and sense the other side by echolocation. And then one block just happened to be transparent xenonite. Rocky didn’t know that transparency mattered, but he accidentally gave Grace a window. Without that one lucky piece of material, the first contact between humans and Eridians would have been a lot more awkward.

@dangambardello @benjamincowen I'm sure his lengthening cycle theory wrecked many. I don't mind Ben and I enjoy watch his ideas but his track record isn't great, certainly no better than anyone else. The most dangerous part is he's very convincing.

I see people calling @benjamincowen out because Bitcoin is up 30% from recent lows. I recommend you don’t do that. 1. His thesis is not currently invalidated. Especially currently as BTC tests 20 week moving average resistance with days still until the close. So ya better be careful getting overly confident, as this could simply be a lower high. 2. There’s no need to be nasty or condescending towards someone just because they may share a different opinion than you on cycles. That’s one of the most ridiculous things I see on this app. You know where I stand. I think the business cycle will prove itself over the 4 year cycle. I think we are far closer to the bottom being in than someone like Benjamin might think. But that’s beside the point. Respect each other, and dare I say…root for each other!

🚨BTC UPDATE It’s pretty bold to say Bitcoin has already bottomed. Many people are saying this cycle hit a low much faster than previous ones. A lot of voices claim “this time is different” But the 4-year cycle has been the most consistent pattern in crypto history. Every past cycle had a long slow period after the halving before the big move up. We’re still only 23 months from the last cycle top. The real parabolic phase usually comes much later. I’m not saying we can’t go higher soon, but calling the bottom this early doesn't sit right. Patience has always been the biggest edge in crypto. This cycle will probably be the same. What do you think? 🤔

Here's a secret about traders like Ben Cowen. They have a post for every outcome. Rally, crash, new ATH, new ATL. One for when they were right, one for when they were wrong, one for every mood the market is in. It's not really analysis but more a content library. Everyone can find a tweet to fit their narrative. That's the point. An asset like Bitcoin is simply too volatile and unpredictable to get every daily/weekly/monthly move correct, which is why the traders don't last long before they build up a history of wrong calls. Most people would do better to focus on being directionally correct in my opinion. I am unashamedly a "permabull" because I'm not a trader. I am a long only investor dealing in a 5+ year timeframe. @CryptoMichNL @benjamincowen He's not been right 90% of the time. He often plays the fortunte tellers tricks of multiple scenarios and often says that he "could be wrong" but delivers with authority. His videos are interesting so still worth watching.

I think it's wrong to be attacking @benjamincowen. He's been right on 90% of the moves over the past five years and is getting completely roasted as the markets turn up. Nobody is going to be right 100%. However, only a few people can provide valuable information for the public, which he has been doing.
