@schrieferranch We do a 1/2cc of Rompun rub some on-no-mo on the cows nose/mouth and some on the calf’s back. Let the cow sit for about 5min or until the good comatose sets in. Then turn little Ricky in. We’re 96% success rate w/it on first try. Call it the hard restart. Clear the etch a sketch

Put em in a maternity pen, 10cc of ferrappease, 5cc of Acepromazine…..lots of effort to start but in as short as 6 hours or as long as 3 days we are 7/7 with that method over the last 2 years.

I get asked almost daily how calving is going. We are still 2 weeks away. The stress level is low, and requires lots less hay and work.

@Nebsandhills Congrats!! Those are both huge accomplishments! When she gets her American degree I hope you all can go to Indianapolis to get it! My parents came with me to receive mine— truly one of my proudest accomplishments & such a fun experience!
