@Scanlines9 For now I'm using this converter, but I either have to pick up a Pi 4 which still has analog video out isntalled, or solder a cable to my Pi 5's analogue video out. It's still there but there's no header.

So my Windows laptop has been dying overnight, with me waking up to a laptop with maxed-out fans and unresponsive screen, keyboard, and mouse.
Why??? Well it turns out that MICROSOFT RESET MY FUCKING POWER SETTINGS and now my laptop is trying to hibernate after three hours. Except that hibernation doesn't work properly and just freezes the system.
For the love of Zeus, stop changing my settings when you do a Windows update.

@GvanOnselen I'd love to try the wagyu from the flat fryer, just to get a sense of the pure taste but a good charcoal fire adds so much flavour. However, all that melting wagyu fat will likely cause huge flare-ups and probably scorch the meat.

Don't know who in Japan came up with this mad way of cooking Wagyu steak on a flat fryer, in oil, but given the many videos, it seems "the way". Suffice to say, on pain of death, would I cook a steak like that. Let alone an expensive one. Just rubbish. Needs a fire. Case closed.

This is my life currently, too. I want to be with someone and I don't believe he will appear by magic. This has never happened before & at 56 though I meet lots of men organically—almost all are married. To find your prince, you have to head to the pond and smooch some frogs.

i have a friend in nyc that just goes on dates constantly (like 3-4x per week) & i am amazed by her resilience cuz i think mindless dating right now is the highest cost low return activity in modern life. it’s not even close. ppl make it a hobby without realizing the emotional costs are real & they compound silently. every casual encounter trains you to treat intimacy as audition. like turning this into job interview pipeline devalues it almost entirely. ironically you become worse at the thing you’re optimizing for. you can feel ppl who are doing this when you encounter them. what a tragedy.

Have there ever been any true 3D MetroidVania's ever made? They nearly all seem to be 2D focused.
Closest I can think of are Batman: Arkham Asylum, and the 2013 Tomb Raider, Maybe Jedi: Fallen Order, and even then they're very light/hand holdey on the "Metroiding" aspect.

40 years ago, Capcom's rootin' tootin' up-the-screen shootin' Gun Smoke hit Euro arcades. It was basically Commando with cowboys, with the player guiding hero Billie Bob through a variety of Western environments. Mucho baddies and power-ups ahoy made this a very fun shooter.

@JazRignall I was less than enthused when I first loaded up the C64 Activision version of Afterburner. I had to lie to myself and pretend that I enjoyed it :D I would've killed for the Mega Drive version.

35 years ago, Mega Drive Afterburner flew into the office and shocked and awed us. It was a blistering conversion of the superscaler coin-op classic that helped further establish Sega's 16-bit system as THE home arcade machine to have. Excellent audiovisuals and gameplay!
