£27.5k is the next goal. Always been a fan of 2.5 increments and keeping the goals bitesize. Keeps the motivation. Needs a little input from my side though.

People underestimate how motivating it is seeing dividends land in your account. Not because of what they buy today. But because they remind you that your money is quietly going to work while you sleep. Small streams become rivers, dear reader.

The stock market’s greatest trick isn’t volatility. It’s convincing you that the same £26,000 portfolio is a triumph on the MAX chart… …and a disaster on the 1D chart. The evidence rarely changes. Our emotions do.

@PinguStacks Pingu, you have changed my lunch plans to deep dive into this a litle further, soon I will be removing Watson from his position and replacing him with your good self. Frustrating its not on 212 yet…

One final plug to catch your interest if you like dividends... $SATA pays 13% APR dividend yield... paid every single trading day. Yeah you heard that right 😂 My 21 shares get me $1.12 dollars a day, volatility extremely low, it's pretty much pegged to $100 👍 Only available on Robinhood at the moment though. @Strive

People tell me to “just buy an ETF.” Others say to concentrate into your highest conviction stocks. Meanwhile, I’ve built my own “Sherlock ETF” with 50+ holdings and the majority paying dividends. Genius or complete insanity? How many stocks do you own?

Hump day reflections from the evidence locker 🕵️📈 Regrets? • Selling my $ASTS too early • Giving up on $INTC before the story had played out • Chasing high-yield “dividend opportunities” that turned out to be traps • Trying to predict politics and culture instead of focusing on the underlying business The market charges expensive tuition fees. The trick is not paying for the same lesson twice.

@PinguStacks Same here, I tend to see both camps as you say. Even learning and researching it tended to show individual stocks or ETF only so thought I was fundamentally wrong. Its great to see I am not the only one treading this lets say more lonely path

@SherlockInvests Haha appreciate it mate, tbf you're the first person I've come across with the same idea 😂 Don't get me wrong my ISA is extremely concentrated in one area... but the GIA is staying this way, and this is how I want my portfolio to look like in the long run really

@PinguStacks Rude of me not to follow your lead, maybe a little too heavy in some areas like Finance but tends to keep the dividends healthy

@SherlockInvests Have very small allocations to a fair few UK defensive dividend type plays which are too small to even show on here, but here's what my GIA looks like right now

It's funny you get both sides tell you you're wrong usually... ETF and chill types say you're buying too many stocks and should go ETF only Everyone else says... too diversified, how can you track that... but it's still actually way more concentrated than holding an ETF. To me it's a good middle ground if you enjoy stock picking, you get to participate in the stocks you believe in, and will be significantly more concentrated than if you held an ETF, but diversified enough that if a few stocks underperform, it doesn't really matter. You can analyse trends over time and drop the losers if the thesis changes 🤷‍♂️
