@BillKristol I think all sane people are comfortable attacking the SPLC. They labeled mainstream conservative and Christian organizations hate groups. They are horrible and should be aggressively called out.

@billybinion While I take no pleasure in her misfortune, I am curious why you don’t see another potential story here. Given the situation, her skill set (and/or relationships) are apparently so specific as to have virtually no value outside government sponsored international development.

I didn’t like USAID. But watching people gleefully mock a woman for having to start over at ~60 is bleak. You can disagree with someone’s politics without losing basic empathy. The internet has broken a lot of brains.

@jeremykauffman While I take no pleasure in her misfortune, you’ve hit the nail on the head. Given the situation, her skill set (and/or relationships) must be so specific as to have virtually no value outside government sponsored international development. This should really be the story.

@AlecMacGillis I certainly wouldn't celebrate someone's misfortune, but the fact that the best job she can now find pays $19/hr makes you wonder what skills she has or how narrowly focused those skills must be that nobody is willing to pay for them.

I’m against shunning as a strategy and I think Democrats should appear on as many shows as possible, including Hasan Piker’s — but all of his takes on serious issues seem awfully dumb and I’m not sure I understand the determination to raise his prominence.

It seems to me that Bill Kristol has forgotten why he opposes Trump, and simply internalized that he does, such that anything that is done in the name of that opposition is now deemed okay. This is no way to live. x.com/billkristol/st…

@BillKristol It is quite different from redistricting, but I am sure you understand this. Degrading our constitutional republic as a proportionate response to degrading liberal democracy - FDR would be proud. I don't state this as a compliment.

@brianstelter @S_Fitzpatrick So he interviewed all the FBI folks who signed the public letter stating that the Hunter Biden laptop had "all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation"? Not saying the allegations are true or false as I have no idea, but the Atlantic is a highly biased source.

It's worth underscoring that @S_Fitzpatrick said she interviewed "more than two dozen people" about Kash Patel's conduct, "including current and former FBI officials, staff at law-enforcement and intelligence agencies, hospitality-industry workers, members of Congress, political operatives, lobbyists, and former advisers." Of particular note: "Hospitality-industry workers"

Trump tells Iran that if they don’t agree to his “very fair and reasonable DEAL” the US will “knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran.“ Targeting civilian infrastructure is widely considered a war crime under the Geneva conventions.

@breese34 Perhaps instead of the players and coaches being punished, the school should've had it's lacrosse program shut down for at least a year and the players given complete freedom to transfer with no loss of eligibility.

Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy. But right now, they’re under attack. Several Republican-controlled states have redrawn their congressional maps to give themselves an unfair advantage in the midterm elections. Now Virginia has a chance to help level the playing field. If you live in the Commonwealth, early voting begins March 6, and Election Day is on April 21. Vote YES.

@RichardHanania Lots of changes over the past 45+ years. What is the change in active religious participation in this group? The change in support for abortion? Not judging, but I think this group has undergone a major cultural shift. Certainly, the 2 parties have as well.

@BulwarkOnline Election fraud concern is when you lie about secure elections when ID is not required and massive mail voting occurs. In fact, nobody knows the prevalence of voting fraud - the system doesn’t allow us to make such a determination.
