@xWayfinder I’ve got 4 boys now. They’re currently young and don’t eat at all, but I feel like at some stage they’re going to switch and I’ll be at Costco buying the biggest boxes of cereal and milk I can get, and go back every day for more

There was a time in my life where I ate 16 weetbix a day with a litre of milk. How did my parent afford to keep me?

It’s taken me 2 days to move my body clock 6 hours. The family had dinner which worked out to be my new lunch. Workshop starts tonight at midnight essentially after what would be my new dinner time. I’ve had a 30min nap. Let’s see if I can make it through to 7am tomorrow.

Got some remote workshops this week from 11pm to 6am so trying my hand at what shift workers do week in and out. Hoping it’s better than jet lag flying to from Australia to USA east.

This is pretty close to the way I've been thinking about a useful hierarchy of APIs in recent years: "Customer Experience APIs: The missing layer" buff.ly/3ONbd6X

"in the future technology will be both ambient and contextual". Really enjoyed this talk from Imran Chaudhri on the disappearing computer -- and a world where you can take AI everywhere buff.ly/44KkPFf

@jamesladd @skamille Perhaps that’s an argument for ongoing refactoring not just of the code but of your architecture as well. If it’s stagnant for too long, it ends up mismatched to the business needs and the Big Bang rewrite becomes more appealing

@StewGleadow @skamille While I agree with the premise of a rewrite being the last resort - there is the fact that the time after you have released is usually the time you know best / the most on how to write the solution

"Avoiding the Rewrite Trap" by @skamille - so many familiar points in here. Sometimes rewrites are necessary, but they feel like a last resort, not something to rush into buff.ly/3VK4OLw

Finally watched @katrinaclokie's YOW 2022 talk "Making the Most of Your Manager" - I've had it open in a tab since December! It's a great talk of actionable advice buff.ly/3LM6MX0

These lines must have crossed years ago in Australia. I can’t remember the last time I saw someone is cash. I haven’t carried a wallet for nearly 3 years now

Are we sure he didn’t walk in front of the car deliberately? Churchill prescribed a minimum of 250mL of spirits with each meal 🥃

Atlassian used to share big company changes in "town halls" then follow with written info. Recently swapped - share company updates in Confluence 2-5 days ahead of the town hall. Staff asked much more informed Qs this way around. We will do it this way going forward.

“what we should do is scrap the $11bn a year we spend on fossil fuel subsidies, impose a carbon tax like the successful one we had in 2012 to 2014 and stop wasting money on dodgy carbon offsets.” Better for the economy and low-income earners @RDNS_TAI in theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
