I've never liked how self-centred the English Sonic community is. I've seen many times that "SEGA should just leave behind Japanese fans" and I'm like...no???????? That's like if Bandai Namco dropped support of PAC-MAN in the west because he's doing so well in Japan.

There's a mix of ignorance and laziness in the reaction to this point. Sonic Frontiers showed that Japan is willing to give Sonic a fair shot, but it doesn't change everything overnight. I think throwing in the towel is legitimately very lazy and half-hearted.

@SEGAInforment I think “Sonic has to do this and this to achieve “world-class” status” is flawed reasoning. The Sonic series should innovate, not copy the homework of Final Fantasy. Being more serious does not make a franchise world-class.

I think for mainline 3D titles, the Sonic series should pursue the fidelity of other AA Japanese developed games if Sonic Team wants to begin reaching "world-class" status. You absolutely can mix high-fidelity and photorealism with fantastcal.
