If there was an imminent threat from Iran, Tulsi’s answer would have been: yes. It’s as simple as that. She wouldn’t have tied herself into pretzels with the ridiculous claim that only a President can determine that. She literally puts out an annual threat assessment. The plain fact is that she lied. After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

The US right is FAR more violent than the US left. Right-wing perps committed 91% of political killings in the last 20 years. White nationalists alone did 38%. Even if we include anti-police killings by non-leftists, "the left" did just 8%. Exclude those? Only 12 deaths, 3%.

In response, there hasn’t been any kind of major nationwide crackdown on leftist extremists and the organizations that fund and encourage them. There hasn’t been any concerted response of any kind.
