The next stage of Denuvo will probably be kernel-level DRM to fight Hypervisor bypasses. You have been warned. If that nightmare becomes a reality, that's past my limit. I won't be buying any Denuvo game for the foreseeable future until that garbage is removed.

Little glitchy but yeah! Not bad for 25 years old. Maybe a bad connection? Sadly I only have 10.5 install DvD. I'll have to make a 10.2 install set.

I remember when Linux was about getting work done, not turning your desktop into a neon anime circus and pretending a tiling window manager is the holy grail of productivity.

Driverless printing is just reinventing the wheel You can print from windows 9x or any networked computer, over tcp/ip, to a LaserJet from 2012-13 (at least) and probably newer because it includes pcl and ps drivers in the OS.

@beeeemooooo @Gaming4all98 There were literally a ton of ps2 to 3 ports back in the day, this idea of it needs to be remade in unity is a relatively new thing.

@Gaming4all98 The fact that it took us this long is probably why this isn’t as simple as you think So far, i haven’t seen any straightforward port from the PS2-PS3 era. Most “ports” actually require them to rebuild the game in a modern engine while salvaging the game logic and assets

If you thought a Mac with 8GB of memory doing professional creative content editing was impressive, here's a Mac with 0.5GB RAM editing 42MP photos taken on a camera 15 years newer than itself.

No lies detected. It's actually insane how smartphones effectively ruined computer literacy for younger Gen Z and Alpha.

apple had a server line (XServe) but discontinued it because they had no advantage over other servers. nobody bought them with Apple Silicon there's a real reason for Apple servers to exist - imagine an M3 Ultra but designed without desktop thermal/power constraints in mind

apple *has* to have a successor lined up, given how lucrative Apple Silicon is for ML it would be bad business to not have a real Dell GB300 tower competitor, right? they also really need to start getting these in actual racks

@ArmedJ0y I'm old enough to remember when Steam came out and the gaming community lambasted it. The backlash to being forced to use the client and the concept of digitally owning games was fierce, consumers and the gaming media were resistant. It's kind of crazy how that got memory holed.

Valve is funny because they're a hyper capitalist private company who has a not-literal, but functional monopoly on PC gaming. But their internal company policy is practically communist, where no one is forced to do anything and they just work on whatever they feel like. Resulting in probably the best company in the world.

@MoshiMoshiMoan What if Sony and Microsoft are jacking up the prices because GTA6 isn't going on PC for god knows how long, and they're trying to cash in on the gravy train? Hopefully this turns away potential buyers. At some point even the biggest mark has to realize no game's worth a grand!

@MoshiMoshiMoan A lot of people are not ready to have the conversation that the average consumer is the issue with the industry. Despite it being some a mediocre console, PS5 is selling well and that’s because so long as consumers are buying the newest sports games and call of duty every year.

@NekoMichiUBC The hinges on the Tibook are so delicate.. but it was my favorite laptop keyboard, ever. I should get one just to type on, I really dislike modern stuff, the TiBook has such great travel on the keys it's just the best.
