A Ukrainian interceptor drone shoots down a russian drone midair. These are the same interceptor drones Donald Trump recently said the United States “doesn’t need” from Ukraine. Meanwhile, Iranian-made drones — the very same type russia has been using against Ukrainian cities for years — are now attacking American bases across the Middle East. Ukraine has already built one of the most effective and cheapest counter-drone systems in the world, using small interceptor drones that can destroy incoming UAVs at a fraction of the cost of traditional air defenses. Yet instead of learning from the country that has been fighting drone warfare every night for three years, Washington pretends it already “knows more about drones than anybody.” The battlefield says otherwise. Two words: arrogance and incompetence.

Let me break this down simply: We have a greed problem. We can afford Medicare for All. We can afford to house every person sleeping on the street. We can afford to make public college tuition free and guarantee access to universal pre-k to every child in America. The money exists.
