Rachel Ruto shed tears during the requiem mass for the Utumishi Girls students.
I have no problem with Rachel Ruto shedding tears for the Utumishi Girls students. It is a tragedy, and those families deserve compassion.
What I struggle with is the selectiveness.
I never saw the same tears from Rachel Ruto or President Ruto when young Kenyans were killed during the June 2024 and 2025 protests. When even a 7-year-old was shot 10 times, a young girl was shot at home, etc
I never saw the same outrage. The same urgency. The same emotion.
That is what angers most Kenyans.
A child burned in a school fire is mourned and rightly so. A child shot by police at home during a protest becomes a political inconvenience.
To me, grief that only appears when it's convenient stops looking like compassion and starts looking like performance. And both Ruto and his wife seem to have perfected this art.
Every Kenyan life should matter equally.
@Kikuyuwarrior20@SokoAnalyst And does this guy know how many village elders we have and divide by 3.9B for 12 months,it can't translate more than 5k a month, for guys who are the integral link to Security and social happenings in the villages
@SokoAnalyst Brother, these are 2 different things. The elders need that cash. I have a farm 2.5 hrs out of Nairobi. Let me tell you. Those elders and headmen are your true saviors. No gov for miles. Funding them and health is not a mutually exclusive issue. They shld both be funded.
Treasury CS John Mbadi has proposed KSh 3.9 billion as stipends for village elders. Let us be clear: nobody is dismissing the role village elders play in communities. They are important in local administration, conflict resolution and community mobilization.
But KSh 3.9 billion? In this economy?
Hospitals have no medicine. Patients are being told to buy gloves, syringes and basic drugs from outside. Teachers are underpaid, understaffed and overworked. Schools are struggling. Youth are jobless. SMEs are collapsing. Farmers are broke.
So how does a government look at all these national emergencies and decide that KSh 3.9 billion for village elders is the urgent priority?
This is not budgeting. This is political tokenism dressed as public service. It is money being pushed to the grassroots, not to solve structural problems, but to create loyalty networks ahead of political battles.
Are we serious as a country, or are we just watching public money being organized for politics in broad daylight?

@Honeyfarsafi They will be the same ones saying place the girls at the scene of arson, and let them scot-free cos CCTV wouldn't have shown them light the fire.Useless activism.
The CCTV would’ve captured those girls even when placed at the entrance and hallways. So many questions and concerns as to why there are CCTV cameras inside the dormitory. Mwache kujifanya hamuelewi
@benxonbenzy@TaweMovement1 Sasa Ruto was to come and do the slashing for the county?what stops the stadium from being used?he did his part the local leadership should do the rest
The state of Abandoned Masinde Muliro stadium in Bungoma that hosted the 2024 Madaraka Day celebrations on June 1, 2024.
The stadium was reportedly renovated at a cost of Ksh 1.96 billion in 2024.
Despite President William Ruto promise that he had instructed the contractor to finalise the project in July 2024, till now nothing has ever happened.
The stadium is now bushy and full of cracks and damaged seats Hosting wild animals like snakes.
Despite Bungoma having football clubs playing in National leagues and good schools that engage in sports games the stadium has never been used again since Madaraka day in 2024.
Remember Bungoma is where the third in command Speaker Moses Wetangula comes from and he passes there anytime he's in Bungoma.
Quick one...
If your Kid was among those who lit the fire at Utumishi Girls, would you get them a lawyer or let the law take it's course?
Am talking about your child....
@kellenkawira4@Maryian96 I totally disagree,am sure there are things you did whole young that your parent never knew about, would your parent be put at fault?were they because of the upbringing?Se vices are picked from peers
@Maryian96 Personally I won't attempt to imply that what she did was right.. she'll have to grow up knowing actions has consequences. It's all about how some people are brought up rather than peer pressure
@karigoh@C_NyaKundiH Is a matchbox so big to carry, can easily be sneaked,of even a lighter,or can be stollen from the kitchen. For the mattress, that's what all girls sleep on,very available
@samwel_lodio@C_NyaKundiH Not really, some vices are picked from peers. If you ever smoked, had sex or drunk alcohol or knew one who did, were they sanctioned by parents?some if not all parents of the 8 suspects are dumbfounded
@RodgersKipembe I disagree,I doubt if brings up their kid to be a killer,we think we know our kids well, yet they pick up traits and vices from their peers and online. It is as much shocking to many parents.Full force of the law to take the course never the less
Mzee Chege from Olkalau touched the hearts of many Kenyans. He was seen walking his two children to school in worn out clothes and gumboots. Life has been very hard for this father. He works long hours at a quarry to take care of his two children and elderly mother on his own. More than 13 years ago his wife left the family and never came back.
She has shown no interest in their lives since then. Mzee Chege has been raising the children alone in a small single room mabati house. During school holidays his daughter and son shared a three seater sofa as their bed. His daughter is now in high school.
Through all of this Mzee Chege never thought of leaving his children. The children understood their father's struggles and adapted to the hard life with hope that things would change one day. In the early years he would carry both children on his bicycle to the quarry.
Things changed after a TikTok community came together and raised more than KSh 500,000. The money was used to buy the family new clothes utensils bedding and other household items. They were also moved into a fully furnished one bedroom house with electricity running water a bathroom toilet and kitchen.
These were things they had never had before. For the first time the children watched television in their own living room. The family will stay in the house for three months while their permanent home is being built.
Today the TikTok community and well wishers across Kenya are holding a fundraiser to help build Mzee Chege a proper permanent house. Relatives from his wife's side had been silent for over 13 years. They have now started reaching out and asking for forgiveness.
@JuliusKBitok If educated people can accept this kind of funding for the children of a nation n go ahead and implement such deficit-guided funding then there is no logical reason to have scholars in such offices. Wasted education. The audacity of posting such dim justification is shocking
1. The approved Capitation for primary school is capped at Ksh 1,400 per year. The funds are usually released by the National Treasury to the Ministry of Education on termly basis in the ratio of 50:30:20.
2. The capitation amount is arrived at based on clear expenditure lines (vote heads) that are determined by estimated costs incurred by EACH learner.
3. Upon receipt of the money, and based on the exact amount received, MoE releases the funds with an accompanying circular detailing the expenditure breakdown (vote heads).
4. The figures in reference to the circular are based on this practice.
5. In summary, MoE wishes to clarify the following:
• MoE determines how much money is allocated to each vote head based on the total amount of capitation received from the National Treasury
• Capitation funds are released on three phases corresponding to the school calendar terms
• The circular in reference is based on the 2nd term tranche as received from National Treasury.
• The amounts shown are per learner, not per school
-The KSh 95.25 PER LEARNER is for learning materials only (books, stationery, etc.)
-The KSh 93.08 PER LEARNER for school operations (staff, maintenance, utilities, exams) @EduMinKenya@_BasicEdu
@NytoP2PMwangi After intervension of women rep SHA paid 1.5M..... that alone should tell you that the president has failed the Nation we should not be begging for health care whole 6B disappear without a tace....he who feels it knows it
Kikuyu musician Kamanda wa Kioi has released a song mocking President William Ruto, with the line: “We don’t know who we shall elect, but we know who we shall not elect!”
This is the same Kamanda wa Kioi who, together with his wife, had been unwell, and whose medical bills were settled by President William Ruto and his Deputy.
Early last year, the musician was hospitalised at Guru Nanak Hospital. The President, together with the Deputy President, cleared a KSh 3 million hospital bill without any drama.
Then his wife fell ill and was admitted at Nairobi West Hospital, where the bill came to KSh 3.5 million. The family and friends managed to raise only KSh 200,000. They appealed for help, but no one came through until Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina stepped in. She registered the family for SHA and paid the premiums.
SHA covered KSh 1.5 million, leaving a balance of around KSh 2 million. After she had been locked in the hospital for nearly two months, President William Ruto personally cleared the remaining KSh 2 million.
This is not a case of mere ungratefulness. It is a lack of basic human dignity and decency, the very qualities that separate us from animals.
If it were someone like Samidoh or DJ Fatxo, whom the President might never have assisted directly, one might understand and give them a pass. But not Kamanda wa Kioi.

How are you all accountants surviving?
When Uhuru left power, NSSF was at flat rate of KSh 200. For Ruto, it's 6% on the employer side and 6% on the employee side.
When Uhuru was leaving power, the dollar was KSh 118. Ruto took it to 160 and brought it down to 129.
When Uhuru was leaving power, petrol was going for KSh 158 with subsidy. Ruto took it to 217, brought it down to 178, and now it’s at 198 with subsidy.
When Uhuru was leaving power, the maximum NHIF contribution was KSh 1,700. For Ruto, it's 2.75% of your salary.
During Uhuru’s time, KSh 100 would give you about 6 KPLC units of tokens, but under Ruto you now get about 3 units for the same amount.
During Uhuru’s time, VAT across key sectors was 8%, but under Ruto it has gone up to 16%.
For Uhuru, affordable housing meant no deductions on your payslip, but under Ruto, you now have an additional mandatory deduction.
Despite all this, borrowing hasn’t stopped. In fact, it has picked up.
So, how has Ruto reduced the cost of living ?🤔
@IEBCKenya To hit the 2.5m mark in the remaining 23 days, the agency would need to increase its daily registration rate from approx 49,188 to approx 93,725 new voters per day.

This evening, I visited Sammy Kioko at Nairobi West Hospital to stand with him and his family during this difficult time. Sammy is like a son to me, and I continue to pray for his quick and full recovery.
I also spoke with Governor Wavinya Ndeti, who is deeply concerned by this unfortunate incident and is keen to ensure that the matter is handled fairly and transparently.
My hope and prayer are that this issue will now proceed with calm, sobriety, and a clear focus on the facts, so that Sammy can heal in peace and the truth can emerge without unnecessary distraction.
At this moment, what matters most is Sammy’s well-being, the dignity of his family, and the need for this matter to be concluded in a just and respectful manner.
The new State House designs and furnishings are uninspiring and completely off. It is undoubtedly work of scatter brained. Poor architecture is always evidence of lack of vision. We are being led by a visionless. We are in deep trouble.
