[ Long post incoming ] As I've been struggling with consistency over last few months, I've been reflecting on myself and my trading performance lately. What I realized is the fact that I am managing to trade almost every major fx pair profitably when backtesting over a 3 month period. This realization made me very stressed out because I was NEVER getting even close this with real-time results. So after a considerable time invested into backtesting this month, talking to other profitable and CONSISTENT traders I came to a realization that the problems I'm encountering mostly, if not all, are psychology-based. I've had a big and ambitious goal to get funded over 500k this year, I believe I've also placed some internal pressure on myself with this ''unrealistic'' goal. So what I've decided is to take a different approach, while my 200k funded account sits in -1% drawdown (and it will stay like that) as long as it is necessary for me to build confidence. I've decided I will be taking on small account challenges and trying to scale them while every time I pass one, I will be buying up a bigger one. I will be doing all of this publicly of course. Explanation - Starting a 10k account, if I pass, trade the account try to scale it continuously, and start a bigger challenge such as 25k. Also, I've decided to ''tighten'' up my discipline with journaling and reviewing trades. I will also be posting the weekly performance here and I'm open for constructive criticism ( If you post a screen with long/short tool on TV only, expect to be insulted ) Some of the rules I am going to implement starting from tomorrow: - No discord servers while waiting for setup, only if I have no bias and decided to stay sidelined - No comparison with other traders - Finish the trading week by Thursday or if at +4r for the week. - Trading only EUR/USD & USD/CAD (potentially check GBP/USD only if EUR/USD is looking like ass) - Paying more attention to time and forming of the Daily candle - Hard TP at 2r. No matter what. - No breakeven. - Organize a personal discord server with my analysis and approach for the day, writing down confluence, thoughts, and ideas for the day. Personally, I believe this approach will show where I am failing because it will eliminate the ''let's make some money'' mindset I've been having lately. If it's going to take for me to blow up 10 small accounts to be profitable, it is what it is. Sooner or later I will figure this shit out. It's just a matter of time.
