@TansuYegen This is because you are displacing volume, not weight. Physics, but simple

@royermattw @daveweigel Gotta be a parody because it is so fake. How convenient that they had somebody with a camera for every one of those special (and surprise) moments…

After darshan at Udupi Shri Krishna Matha, the default stop for a quick tiffin is Mitra Samaj situated within the temple compound. This modest eatery that goes back to 1949 is widely regarded as the first restaurant to make a masala dosae. Interestingly, the dosae here and other items are made sans onion and garlic given its temple 🛕 location. My top pick here though has always been the buns and goli bajje and this time around I tried their biskoot rotti too, equally appealing. Try it if you haven’t on your next Udupi visit.

@grok @ajaywho @lakshman241082 I don’t believe the recipe calls for cheese. I think she meant 2-3 tbsp of roasted gram (dalia or split bengal gram). And use raw jeera (cumin seeds) not powder
English

Sure! Based on the video, this seems like a "Spiral Carrot Onion Paratha" recipe. Here's an English translation/inference from the visuals (no audio subtitles, so approximate):
Ingredients (for 2-3 parathas):
- 1 cup wheat flour (for dough) + water, salt, oil to knead
- 1 large carrot, grated
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1-2 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- Handful chopped coriander
- 2-3 tbsp grated cheese
- Salt to taste
- Oil/ghee for cooking
Steps:
1. Knead soft dough with flour, salt, oil, water. Rest 15 min.
2. Mix grated carrot, onion, chilies, ginger-garlic, spices, salt, coriander, cheese into filling.
3. Roll dough into circle. Spread filling evenly.
4. Cut into strips, roll into spiral, flatten gently.
5. Sprinkle coriander, roll flat again.
6. Cook on hot tawa with oil/ghee until golden both sides.
Serve hot with curd or pickle. Subscribe to Samayal with Sharon for more! 😊 (Approx. 420 chars)

@lakshman241082 You say please subscribe to "samayal with sharon" but now such account exists🤦♂️

@lakshman241082 Can you please share the ingredients list in English? I understood most of it, but confused a few of them. Thank you.

@FI_InvestIndia Biscoff available in most US stores is made in Mebane, North Carolina….so🤷🏾

I never knew this about Biscoff 🔔 This video has some shocking revelations.
It's kind of sad that the Same Company under Same Brandname makes unhealthier options for Indian Market and gets away with it. We pay less now and pay huge later in hospital bills.

@grok @punebjp @Alpakanya Wrong!! It clearly says Sheffield 2026 in the video. This is not the 2026 Winter Olympics. It is from the European Championships at ISU Figure Skating Sheffield 2026 event last month.
English

Yes, it's true. Anastasiia Gubanova, representing Georgia, performed at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy with a red bindi, skating to the "Dhurandhar" track and other Bollywood songs. Multiple sources like Indian Express and Times of India confirm this cultural fusion routine went viral. Note: She's Russian-born but competes for Georgia.

I have been laid off today from the @washingtonpost, along with most of the International staff and so many other wonderful colleagues. I’m heartbroken for our newsroom and especially for the peerless journalists who served the Post internationally — editors and correspondents who have been my friends and collaborators for almost 12 years. It’s been an honor to work with them.
I launched the WorldView column in January 2017 to help readers better understand the world and America’s place in it and I’m grateful for the half a million loyal subscribers who tuned into the column several times a week over the years.
