That’s not on Carlos Mendoza. That’s on David Stearns for not adding more high leverage relief help in the off-season. Don’t know what Carlos can do in that situation, genuinely. Luke Weaver has just been very bad.

This was a homestand where the Mets really had to make some hay. Nine games against three teams who shouldn’t be in the playoff picture…and they go 3-6. They’ve now lost 17 of 20 and continue to spiral downward fast.

Baty and Alvarez were and are busts. With almost zero trade value now. Mauricio will be one too. Keeping him up last year for the sole reason to avoid losing an option was the stupidest thing ever and now they reap what they sow. They wasted development time and a spot on the bench. Stearns is an absolute disaster
