@HarryBrighouse1 Just one of thousands here who loved the man. I met him in Birmingham when he was visiting all the schools in one academic year. There are over 400 schools so that's 3 a day! A great leader with a personal touch. He will be missed.

This is formal but here goes. The family of Sir Tim Brighouse are very sad to announce that Tim died in the John Radcliffe Hospital today after a short illness. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and a towering figure in the word of education. 1/

@tombennett71 More broadly, I believe evidence will emerge that interventions as a whole don't have their intended or expected benefit. It's like trying to measure the quality of Bolognese sauce by weighing how much basil was added.
