Watched DD again today & it addresses this criticism ~20 minutes into the film & continually does so the entire third act. A file drop wouldn't have been nearly as impactful.

@FluorescentGrey Fravor flew an F/A-18F Super Hornet, which does not come equipped with a 360 degree camera. The F-35 does, though! I agree that the footage we got is underwhelming, but he also wasn't the one who released that footage (nor did he film it) so I'd direct that complaint elsewhere

Considering David Fravor in his own retelling makes it sound like he was the only pilot brave enough to check out the tic tac up close, it’s very peculiar he makes no mention of the 360 cameras jets like his would have been equipped with that would have recorded the whole thing

Jonathan Kaplan was given a fake photo by Ryan Wood. I posted the screenshot briefly on Reddit and was informed that it's a photo from the set of The Day The Earth Stood Still. Disappointed to say the least. I have contacted Mr. Kaplan about this & deleted my earlier post.
