My Discord client, Discord Messenger, now runs on Windows 98! (And also, 95, but you need extra stuff. Win98SE runs it right out of the box.)

This will be my last post on Twitter. Not because of anything wrong in my personal life, just that I have decided to quit. I most likely won't return any time soon.

In 11th grade I remember doing a difficult trigonometry identity problem. It was pretty tricky to prove and I was running out of time. So I differentiated both the sides and showed that since the end function was the same it means the original functions were the same.

Supposing that Russia is willing to freeze the war on the current line of control (which it's not), whoever thinks they won't restart the invasion in a few years is an idiot.

You need to pay more attention. These people have said it before 'they don't love Russia' (Greenwald just went to Russia last week bc flights were cheap, nothing more) They just don't want the US to pay for the war or Europe to pay for the war or even Ukraine to pay for the war. In fact, they don't even want Ukraine to fight and die. They don't love Russia, they just want peace. World is a better place with peace.

The W in WNT is made up history. Windows was irrelevant in ‘88 when we started. The chip was N10, we were focused on a portable, modernized, from scratch version of OS/2. There were even tshirts and logos of NTOS/2, headers like ntos.h, etc. Extensibility was key hence the subsystem architecture for OS personalities/APIs. The microkernel-ish approach also contributed to and forced the issue of subsystem based OS personalities. Windows didn’t enter the picture until much later. David Weiss and crew had a breakthrough on 386 memory mgmt leading to Windows 3.0. Steve Wood and I jumped on board and defined the Win32 API, then we slowed OS/2 subsystem and went full steam ahead building Win32 subsystem and APIs NT is N10 and conveniently also worked as New Technology — especially when we flushed the N10 down the toilet and switched to MIPS R3000/R4000

Did You Know? Windows NT does not stand for "New Technology". It stands for NTen, or N10, which was the codename for the Intel i860 chip where NT development started.

This is the argument of a petulant child. “He started it!” they scream. Ukraine had a peace deal and tore it up once before. Of course no choice can ever change the past. But the choice before Ukraine again today is for peace or for more war. Perhaps Ukraine has too much pride to seek peace now, because they haven’t “won”. Can peace only be achieved in your eyes if Ukraine “wins”? And at what cost to the World?

@ronp8 @KareemRifai That's not how it works. Putin must also agree to a ceasefire. And even if he does, he'll breach it anyway and relaunch the war. Like he already did 3 fucking times (Budapest, Minsk I and II) And allowing Russia to rest would be a giant strategic mistake. If they even want to.
