Big “me sowing vs me reaping” energy here. Where does Xi think the (halting, insufficient) Japanese interest in remilitarization came from? A weird ideological tic? A surplus of money to spend? Would be interesting to hear his theory.

SCOOP - Xi Jinping castigated Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi for her country’s “remilitarisation” in an intense diatribe during his summit with Donald Trump 👇 as.ft.com/r/885f738c-4e8…

@Ayesha_Bagus This is a silly take. Dudula central focus is on stoppinh illegal immigration into the country and criticizing the mechanisms used to make this possible e.g corruptiom at home affairs, exploitative business owners etc...what do they have to do with R10m property sales?

No Dudula for them. We would rather traumatize African migrants while larger systems of inequality, exploitation, and economic concentration remain untouched. It’s easier to blame the vulnerable than confront those with real power.
Koshiek Karan@iamkoshiek

40% of all Cape Town property transactions above R10m now involves foreign buyers ✈️🌍 unsurprisingly, luxury listings are priced in multiple currencies there is no home ground advantage in Cape Town property… even for South Africa’s wealthiest 💰💰

South Africa imports billions in basic goods that could easily be made locally. Here is what we are buying instead of building: ○ Plastic kitchenware & bottles ○ Basic detergents & soaps ○ Plain T-shirts & school uniforms ○ Screws, nuts, bolts & nails ○ Wire fencing & mesh ○ Stationary & cardboard boxes ○ Flip-flops & basic footwear
SA Knowledge Hub@SayEntrepreneur

The reason why Unemployment rate won't go down in SA is that our government has allowed the total collapse of manufacturing in these areas in favour of Chinese imports. ○ Hammanskraal ○ Booysens ○ Chamdor ○ Mafikeng ○ Denver ○ Cleveland ○ Glencoe ○ Vaal ○ Kangala, ○ Standarton ○ Ga Rankuwa ○ Dimbaza ○ Siyabuswa ○ Seshego ○ Lebowakgoma ○ Fort Jackson ○ Wilsonia ○ Butterwork ○ Shayandima ○ Ekandustria ... which ones did we miss?

🚨🇿🇦 The richest man on earth. Born in South Africa. His name is on nothing there. Not one hospital. Not one trust. Not one shelter. Not one library. Not one scholarship. Not one clinic. Not one housing project. He could fund any of it. He has chosen none of it. Instead he sells the world a story of white victimhood, while millions of black South Africans still live in the conditions built for them by white supremacy.

This is appalling @eNCA. Are you in the business of news or are you conduits for hate directed at migrants? Is your mic now a tool wielded by those who want to plunge our country into the abyss? You have a dog in the fight & it's not on the side of human rights, dignity. Sies!

Calls are growing for undocumented migrants to leave South Africa. More anti-illegal immigration protests took Qonce in the Eastern Cape, insisting migrants should close down their businesses. Tune in to #eNCA, channel #DStv403.

@AntonEberhard @jacob_maroga Well he's not wrong. Coal is the bedrock that's currently keeping the lights on and factories running. We need to add more baseload power generation across the board.

What a boring, stuck record from @jacob_maroga. The Germans or their energiewende had nothing to do with the severe load-shedding in South Africa between 2019-2023. Relatively little solar and wind was added to the grid then, and only the last, tiny remaining units, totaling 410MW, of the Komati coal power station were shuttered within a total system of 44,000MW, i.e. less than 1%, hardly the driver of catastrophic supply failures. Maroga’s narrative, which he repeats ad nauseaum, seeks to obscure the real reasons for the power cuts: viz poor technical performance by @Eskom_SA
Jacob Maroga@jacob_maroga

[ENERGY LESSONS FROM GERMANY] After >20 years of Transition, the Germans are admitting it was a Huge Strategic Mistake to attempt to replace large high-density synchronous generation of nuclear and coal, with low-density solar and wind. Around 2018/19 some energy experts in RSA perceived the German model as the “International Best Practice” to be imitated. This resulted in the worst crisis of load-shedding from 2020- 2023, which has now been reversed by refocusing on coal generation Key Lesson: Imitation without insight can be very dangerous

Hello. Some of you mean well and I always appreciate and reflect on your counsel. But not always. For months, @Dischem 's Mark Saltzman (who has now deleted his account ( called me a bitch. I did nothing. I assumed he was another angry troll. I didn't know who he was until he outed himself and talked about his mommy's money. Last week someone accused me of taking CR17 money. They retracted and apologized. Previously it's CIA, Stellenbosch Mafia, USAID and mysterious "handlers." I let it go so many times. So when you advise me to be restrained you must know I HAVE BEEN restrained. But there are days when things must be addressed. Today is one of them. Presumably @Dischem is familiar with Mark's vocabulary and they know that he exercises his freedom of speech by calling people who disagree with him "BITCHES" for opposing Israel. I do hope that unlike Mark, they don't demand that their philanthropic interventions are conditional to South Africans supporting Israel. We don't have to. But I can live with the son of the founder of @Dischem and a major shareholder calling me a bitch. Repeatedly. But don't accuse of taking any money that I have not earned. I have also lent my name, time and access to worthy courses. Including for the some of the people who now call me antisemitic. The difference between me and them is that I don't think contributing to OUR South Africa must be transactional and conditional on them bending to my will. In conclusion, please do call me a bitch any time you want. But do not lie about serious things. I won't play along.

This Tinubu’s session in Kigali is all the proof you need that these African leaders are controlled by their western puppeteers down to what they say. He (Tinubu, President of Nigeria) raises an issue bothering on intra-continental trade. “Africa needs a trading platform for member states to trade with each other” Moderator: “why don’t you start one?” Tinubu: *Confused, and at a loss for words* He went off script. The follow up question made him realize he had said something his masters didn’t prep him to say. There’s no other way to explain it.

Cecil John Rhodes is single-handledly responsible for the fruit business in South Africa. Towards his death (1902), he bought 2 240 hectares of land in Western Cape, planted 200 000 fruit trees & hired California-trained fruit farm managers from the US and UK. He had the same vision for the Nyanga area of Zimbabwe, where he also bought land. His company in South Africa is still one of the largest employers in that country. @matigary @Mavhure @mimmitwit

𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮 $𝟭𝟱𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗥𝟮.𝟱 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻) 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗖 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱 Here are 3 truths that no one shares: (𝟭) 𝗡𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. The OPEC Fund isn’t literally shipping cash or transferring a pre-existing pool of wealth. The entire transaction is purely electronic bookkeeping. (𝟮) 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. When the loan is processed, the South African banking system doesn't move existing funds. Following Richard Werner's credit creation model, it types a new digital entry into the Treasury's account, creating brand-new Rands ex nihilo (out of nothing) at that exact moment. (𝟯) 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗽 If South Africa can just create Rands domestically via credit creation, why borrow in foreign currency then? 𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗬 The catch is that South Africa must repay this loan, plus interest, in actual US Dollars (USD). 𝙎𝙤 𝙞𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 ( 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙨) , 𝙩𝙝𝙚 5% 𝙐𝙎𝘿 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 9%, 11% 𝙤𝙧 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 13% 𝙞𝙣 𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙨. This is a sovereign debt trap because South Africa doesn’t just import foreign money, rather it expands its domestic money supply via a digital ledger. All this while signing up for a hard-currency debt obligation that future taxpayers must fulfill.
David (TalkingCents)@talkcentss

𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗺 You don’t need foreign loans to finance development locally when you are a sovereign who can create the money needed yourself. It is simply a method to trap you via debt. Take notes 🔻

@talkcentss Not correct. There is a transfer of US$ from OPEC's fund to the SA Reserve Bank, raising it's US$ holdings, and allowing it to disburse those funds through treasury. As the loan is recovered, this process reverses. No money is "created" anywhere in the process.

South Africa’s🇿🇦 Aiden Smith Complains About the living conditions at the ongoing African Athletics Championships in Ghana🇬🇭 “When we ask for food, they fight with us. At the dining hall, we were told we couldn’t take more than one portion, either chicken or fish, not both. As athletes, we need to eat properly and recover, but there were constant limits even when we asked for more. In the morning, they would give us half an egg or just one egg while I eat 8 to 20 eggs daily. We also had no blankets in our rooms, which made the conditions even worse for athletes at a major championship.”
