@stalman @travisauruss I’m having the same problem. By the time I’ve crafted weapons and travelled to the next waypoint, my son has woken up and I’m raiding my real life inventory for his lunch

@travisauruss I only have time to play for 60 minutes at a time. There are so many tools and tasks that I can’t get into a rhythm

@robertoblake Make sure to include yourself in that list, Roberto! There’s no way I’d be this close to either 10k subs or monetisation without you and many of the channels you’ve mentioned.

The less than 10% of YouTubers who have over 10,000 subscribers and roughly 10% that get even 1000 views on a video…
The 3-5% of YouTubers in the partner program…
The .5% that have Play Button Awards
Most likely wouldn’t have started or continued without the YouTube education community of people like @derraleves @seancannell @timschmoyer @Daniel_Batal @Ed_FilmBooth @CathrinManning @shellysavesthe @NickNimmin @DeeNimmin and others.
They likely would have never been able to make better content if not for HUNDREDS of tutorial channels as across skills like:
- Graphic Design @tutvid
- Videography @D4Darious
- Editing @lilafromyoutube
- Photography @tonynorthrup @ChelseaNorthru
- Public Speaking @CharismaOn
- Photoshop @phlearn
Nobody gets anywhere 100% by themselves and most people don’t get anywhere without the road 100 people built for them to tread upon.
I can think of 200 people by name without hesitation who my own success wouldn’t be possible without.
In my own way I always to acknowledge where I gained value from others.
Don’t think for one moment that all that matters is HARD WORK, or DOING.
Of course those things matter.
But most creators never get anywhere because they NEVER GET THE SKILL LEVEL to make Higher Quality Content.
They don’t put in the time to learn or master a skill.
And many who do, don’t go any further because they NEVER LEARN STRATEGIES to make the most of their skills, God-given gifts, and they end up SQUANDERING it making high-quality selfish content nobody wants to watch…
They don’t put the audience first.
And then even if they overcome all that.., they do too much by themselves and don’t build team because they can’t let anyone own a piece of their success or take credit..
And they burn out if they are lucky enough not to just break down…
You can spend 100 hours poring your heart into making quality content…
And still come up short…
Because someone who spent 100 hours LEARNING the right thing can get a better result with only 10 Hours every single time…
And when they do put in 100 hours it will take 1000 for you to catch up.
You’re relying on learning from your mistakes… they learned from and avoided others mistakes.
You’re relying on your own judgement, the best are willing to take input from others.
If you want to go fast, go alone.
If you want to go far, you need others.
Shout out to the tutorial makers, the education channels and the mentors.
The lineage of your learners, is more important than, an exceeds your vanity metrics.
And while you may never get the acknowledgment you deserve, I see you, I thank you, and I’m honored to have known you. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

@vidIQ Based on the UK and meet the requirements but it hasn’t come through just yet. I’m hoping to hit 4k watch hours soon anyway so I mainly see this as a good chance to link up my AdSense account ahead of time so I can turn on ads as soon as I meet those requirements

@TechnicallyTee I’ve got a one year old, full-time job and usually manage to publish once a week. It can be done but you’ve got to make other sacrifices and use time wisely. Whenever it’s quiet I film as much footage as possible and use time on my commute or when everyone else is on bed to edit.

When people say they don't have time to shoot YouTube videos, do you truly have no time or you just aren't using your time wisely?
Full time job which is high demanding that has to have all my attention (Engineering). Family time with a 3-year old and I'm still able to create the amount of content I push out. So do you not have time or you aren't using your time wisely?
English

@HHillierSmith @ColinandSamir I want to make on iPad tips for parents but I’m scared that the algo will serve it to a parenting audience, rather than tech, and that if it were successful it would throw my audience out of whack. Something similar happened when starting and the channel is still in recovery
English

@ColinandSamir I'm seeing cracks in the "The Algorithm isn't failing you; you just made a bad video for your audience" argument.
I won't say that's true when we make a video about a HBO Show and Algo sent it to KSI Audiences.
We should put more fault in Algo failing to distribute your video
English

@petematheson No legal expert but it probably depends what terms you agreed prior to the sale.
Probably a good learning for the future. Could you put in place some kind of deposit system, a bit like how a restaurant asks for one in case of a no-show?

@robertoblake Then in November, while I hadn’t gone full time on my own channel, the expertise I had gained meant that I could become the YT Channel Manager at my company, now looking after several channels up to 3 mil subscribers.
Where there’s a will, there’s a way
English

@robertoblake I also adopted new techniques like dictating scripts to my phone while I was sterilising bottles and editing skills that meant I could make things look good without too much B-Roll.
And sharing a parents’ perspective even gave me a point of differentiation in a crowded niche

You've almost never seen a YouTuber who blows up to 1M subscribers in a year, typically over 30, works full-time, or has kids at the same time...
Generally speaking, YouTubers who blow up to 1M subscribers can FULLY commit to YouTube and take high risks... tend to be younger (under 25), relatively attractive, extroverted (at least on camera), and have a singular objective (Become a Big YouTuber) as their only ambition.
Don't judge your outcomes off people who have circumstances you don't have.
If you're a 35-year-old content creator, you shouldn't try to keep pace with a 25-year-old content creator.
You have different circumstances, and a younger person can let YouTube take over their whole life.
The older you get, the more important it becomes to make everything RIGHT SIZE in your life, and if you want room for other things, you may not have the advantage of OBSESSION.
The hidden X Factor in content creators who blow up tends to be OBSESSION. Same thing for successful athletes and business moguls.
Very little exist for them that doesn't apply to their mission in life...

@petematheson I struggle to get long term views even on my evergreen videos but since becoming a dad, I’ve had to slow down the pace. I’ve started focusing on things you can actually do with your tech, as well as long term reviews that don’t have a hard deadline and actually seeing results
English

@PaulRankinYT @robertoblake I’ve been getting these as well. So shady.
English

@LoriLatta3 @saradietschy Having the same issue. I raised a ticket with their customer support but no response yet.
English

@saradietschy Can't pick up my LAB22, Moment is not setup to process orders that don't owe them any money. I have free shipping and non-tax state, so nowhere to enter a credit card, HELP!!!!!!!!!
English

@mattkoval I think you’re setting a good tempo though. All of the videos have had a really unique perspective on the creator economy. Would love to see one about the parenthood topic if it’s not too niche.
English

@ByteReview @CreatedbyElla talked about this in her review. She never managed to do it. Don’t think it’s supported. youtu.be/FJzX9t0P2EM
