During my NYSC, I always tell my friends and fellow corps members this, and honestly, it’s frustrating to see how many people still fall for it. Some unsuspecting individuals end up paying huge sums of money just to “earn” five different certifications within two weeks simply by attending a few Zoom sessions. Let’s be real and ask the important questions: Are these certifications or the issuing bodies recognized locally or internationally? No. Do they have any credible office, structure, or physical learning centers? No. Yet, they charge corps members exorbitant fees for what are clearly questionable certifications. What’s even more shocking is the theatrics 😂 organizing “graduations” and handing out convocation gowns after just two weeks, labeling participants as “certified professionals.” It’s almost unbelievable. Dear corps members, please don’t fall for this. Take your time to research properly before committing your money and time. Not everything that looks professional or organized is actually legitimate. Stay informed and protect yourself.

You want to be “HSE certified” with 26,000 Naira, you self think am now. Employ Google & see what it takes to be globally certified in HSE. Don’t fall victim of motivational speakers disguised as trainers, make good use of your 77,000 paid by NYSC abeg, eat well & look good. If I were you, I’ll use that money to order correct food from Item-7, change go remain self, it’ll do you more good.

Going through this quote made me realize how important awareness really is. It is quite alarming how easily corps members are being targeted and exploited under the guise of “professional certifications.” What makes it worse is how convincing these so called professional bodies appear, making it easy for gullible corps members to fall victim. NYSC really needs to step in and put a stop to this kind of extortion. Dubious people like this shouldn’t be allowed to operate freely while taking advantage of young people who are genuinely trying to grow. The LGIs should also stop entertaining them. And to present and prospective corps members, always take a step back and do proper research. Confirm the credibility of any certification, check if it is recognized, and don’t be pressured by appearances or urgency. Stay informed, be cautious, and protect your time and money.

Riya (showing off) in Islam is the act of performing worship or good deeds to gain admiration, praise, or worldly benefit from people rather than seeking the pleasure of Allah. It is considered a dangerous "hidden shirk" (minor polytheism) & is condemned as it invalidates worship

Somehow, I just can’t imagine having someone take a picture of me praying anywhere at all and making it public. Maybe if I weren’t aware that I was being photographed.

The day you get dragged is when you’ll realise that people don’t like you like that. You’ll be seeing things like “There joor” “ Kini kan Slander, wake me up” “I will not be there Keh” “That one has always been a fool” All this time, you thought you were unproblematic 😩😂

I don’t think I’ve ever been attached to an artiste all my life the way I’m to Asake. Everything he does speaks class, dedication, focus and motion. I’m glad to have witnessed his rise to stardom.
