@ChristianHeiens I'm from Canada. It's awful there. My average tax rate was over 40% between sales tax and the absurd income tax. My son needed an MRI and it was scheduled 9 MONTHS OUT. In the US we got it in 2 weeks.

Grabbing lunch with an Albertan friend who is here in the US this week. He just told me that things are so bad in Canada that if the $100K H-1B fee is struck down in the courts, he’s applying for one.

@nailedvision @SKivimaa @ProIndianPR Working full time should afford everybody a place to live and enough food to get by at the bare minimum. I don't care what changes have to be made for that to happen, it's actually a travesty that people can work two jobs and still be behind on bills and rent.

@jpatrick92 @SKivimaa @ProIndianPR Oh I'm pretty sure they still would. Besides it being a ton of work with a toxic schedule there is social stigma around the work. People think it's for losers, moms working part time, students, and seniors. Plus the fact increasing the wage would increase the cost for everyone.

How many young men do you know that aspire to leave high school then work full time at McDonald's? How do other people view adults that work full time at McDonald's? The same as fulltime for Suncor?

@nailedvision @jpatrick92 @SKivimaa We moved to the US in the 80s and I didn’t see my mom for a few years she left for work before I woke up for school and got back after I was asleep. My mom would sometimes wake me up to say hello and ask if everything was ok.

So no one will ever stop immigration entirely because it would be political and economic suicide. We'll manage things fine.

@MyUnveiledTruth A real vegetarian/vegan doesn't have to constantly inform people about how virtuous they are for being one and how bad everyone else is for choosing to eat meat or consume dairy. They make it their entire identity and then do the over-performative PETA protest shit

The reason most people don’t take vegan/vegetarian activists seriously is because they often come across as anti-human. They are extremely abusive towards other humans, while demanding that those humans they’re abusing to anthropomorphize animals. People instinctively know they’re full of shit, and they’ve just latched onto a movement they can be a hypocrite within, feigning moral superiority as an “upper caste” move. “Look at me, I’m so much better than you. My karma is so superior. I’m upper caste.” The absurdity of their claims is discerned, because everyone sees the way they treat other humans. I’ve even seen some claim that the mentally handicapped with Down Syndrome are “inferior beings,” due to their lower intelligence, despite their innocent nature, while they loft a cat, that likewise has lower intelligence, above humans. The absurdity of their anti-human hypocrisy is constantly on display.
