@cgpgrey Unacceptably sexual, especially for a state named after a virgin.

@SeitterSimora @hankgreen I'm actually an American who lives in the Netherlands because I didn't want to pay taxes to the Trump administration.

@briebriejoy Merry Christmas, Briahna. I hope you have a great holiday season in spite of other people's nastiness.

@briebriejoy Good lord, you are human garbage. You must not have any friends or family to hold you to account. Or you're a prostitute for the Kremlin. Which is it? Or are you just distilled evil sent by Satan to poison the world?

@mikerugnetta "...emancipated, employed and paying their own way." This took a wild turn that I should have expected. Also, the Omaha World-Herald has no respect for the Oxford comma.

@hankgreen "passion, responsibility, curiosity, and obligation" One of these... four is not like the others, and is also much worse.

People (including me) spend a lot of time fantasizing about productivity strategies. But, from what I can tell, strategies don’t create productivity, while passion, responsibility, curiosity, and obligation definitely do.

Hey @FLOTUS - can you just confirm this email was from you before I send my bank details across?

@InfiniteTextLib English is too ridiculous for its own good. I just say "Nederlands" (which is the Dutch word) instead of "Dutch" in most contexts.

@hankgreen My reasoning for being pro-choice has nothing to do with when life begins; I'll concede that fetuses are humans for the sake of argument. I object to fetuses being given additional rights, ie the right to another person's organs. We don't give that right to infants or adults.

@InfiniteTextLib This feels very Lemony Snicket. Also, wtf are these portals and what will happen if I put a dog in one?!

@mikerugnetta Even in the coldest weather, you only need 3 layers: base layer for sweat wicking, middle layer for insulation, outer layer to keep out the wind and rain. (And many apologies for bringing practicality to a rant.)

This is a map of the geographical distribution of Barred owls. As you can see, they do not fuck with Philadelphia. This is how owls came to be associated with wisdom.

@InfiniteTextLib That's the show that got me through the absolute fugue state of the 2020 election results. Hey, let's hear about Ireland's problems - but also mostly just these kids.

@thefancyhatlady I've found that my subconscious has gotten really good at recognizing ads, and I can scroll past them without mental engagement. (Though it helps that many of my ads are in a language that I have to work to understand.)

@hankgreen What I don't get is how something can have a beginning and an expansion and be infinite. Like when did it have time to do that?

There are a lot of things in science that people in a field generally agree on but do not say because it hasn't been proven. In my experience, astronomers and astrophysicists are like "The universe is infinitely large, but we don't know that for sure...but, like, it is."
