Today, on ANZAC Day, we remember and give thanks for the service of all of our Defence Force personnel. It was an honour to join the Dawn Service at South Australia’s War Memorial to pay tribute to those who have fallen in the service of our nation. Lest we forget.

Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Ronnie James Dio and Vinny Appice under the name Heaven & Hell released their only studio album “The Devil You Know” on this day in 2009. It was also Dio’s final studio album before his death in 2010. Thoughts on this album? Favourite tracks?

Newport paedophile Scott Mullen, 32, was caught red-handed with a childlike sex doll and videos of babies being raped. Police acted on a tip-off and found he had downloaded 136 child abuse images and films between 14 July and 18 August 2024 (23 category A, 18 category B and 95 category C). Mullen, already a convicted sex offender from a 2017 community order for indecent images of children, later tried to pervert the course of justice by presenting a bogus report claiming possible innocence. He pleaded guilty at Swansea Crown Court to the images and the attempt to fool the court. Judge Geraint Walters told him: “These are real children being abused by sick adults” and branded him a dangerous offender who poses a high risk of committing further serious offences. Mullen was jailed for three years with a five-year extended licence, an eight-year extended sentence in total.
