Oh this is going to be a rant. Other countries have put North English people on their banknotes. JUST NEVER THE BANK OF ENGLAND!!! (Except George Stephenson, the great cucumber straightener).

Oh my goodness. I'm going to have to actually research this. Surely not. I refuse to believe we've actually done that.

If I wanted to be evacuated from Dubai with no questions asked, I'd simply have ensured I was ordinarily resident in the UK and paid my taxes there.

@thomasforth On that, I'll tell you what else I’ve been assured is ruining the high street. These so called micro pubs selling their overpriced modern beer to the middle classes when real community pubs are struggling.

@path_dependent I'm out here trying to spend 20% of my income on beer like back in the good old days when the high street was thriving but people sneer at me. They call me an "alcoholic", and they say "you can't cycle home after that much". Double standards.

@thomasforth Next you’ll be trying to gaslight me into believing that the good old fashioned grocery shops on my local high street weren’t forced out by nail bars, barbers and vape shops.

@JustRossSmith I'm sure I would (and I've every respect for peoples' faith). I'm sure the people mobilising the idea of Britain's lost Christian heritage would be welcome too.

@path_dependent You’d be very welcome at ours and we’ll make sure we save you a seat (our pews were removed about 30 years ago so yes you would struggle to find one of those)

I've not been to church for a while. From what I'm reading, I guess supply is failing to keep up with demand and I'd struggle to find a pew?

Is “ICE style” going to push Reform past 30%? Maybe I’m a totally out of touch BlueSky liberal lefty but I didn’t get the sense British voters were watching what’s happening in the US this year and nodding approvingly. theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

@davidpick1987 @LukeEdwardsTele @tfNUFC The angry people are never clear what happens next if Howe was peddled. Obviously, some think we should simply get [the flavour of the moment] in. A year ago some of these people would be all in on thomas frank.

The fans who travelled sang Eddie Howe’s name all evening and roared in delight when he stood in front of them after game. A strong message of love & support sent. Think he needed that after wknd and all the ridiculous stuff online which filters into the training ground #nufc

Bangor University have banned Reform and called us “racist, transphobic and homophobic”. Bangor receives £30 million in state funding a year, much of which comes from Reform-voting taxpayers. I am sure they won’t mind losing every penny of that state funding under a Reform government. After all, they wouldn’t want a racist’s money would they?

@TaylorandPayne If these wage bill tables in circulation are close to the truth then nufc's par finishing position is eighth. Howe has exceeded that in each full season.

I get called happy clapper all the time, but we've been really poor at times this season. We have to improve, but I've always been a long term realist instead of a short term, knee jerk, reactionist. I think the club needs stability and it needs Eddie Howe #NUFC

If #NUFC finish 12th this season and don't win a trophy and don't qualify for European football then that will be deemed a huge failure. It would also be the first season that Eddie Howe hasn't exceeded expectations in the time he's been here. I believe he deserves time.

I haven’t been paying attention over the weekend, but I see this morning that they’ve rumbled the Green’s Hannah Spencer for hypocritically having a partner who has a job.

@DPJHodges I'm not fussed if he's from Manchester or St Albans, or whether he's a marginalised working class outsider or his dad is a senior NHS executive. It's more that he's claimed all of these things at different times and it sounds a bit slippery.

This tedious debate’s been going on all week. So let’s just settle it with Matt Goodwin’s own words: “My own roots are in the terrace house on the outskirts of St Albans, Hertfordshire, where I grew up”.
Reform Party UK Exposed 🇬🇧@reformexposed

Here’s an article by @GoodwinMJ discussing where he’s from, but when he wasn’t standing for a seat in Manchester… “My own roots are in the terrace house on the outskirts of St Albans, Hertfordshire, where I grew up.” Manchester gets a fleeting mention. dailymail.co.uk/debate/article…

"Fresh consultation on West Yorkshire mass transit development" > amazing. A fresh consultation! Even better than that actually, five consultations, across all five local authorities of West Yorkshire, carried out in parallel! Very exciting! yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/transport…

@carryonkeith Because they’re clowns who should put some bloody trousers on. A British man wears shorts in two sets of circumstances. 1. Doing some sort of sport or exercise. 2. On holiday somewhere hot or possibly on the beach at home Thems the rules and I’ll brook no argument

@ae_baldwin The fixture is often a mad occasion - I don't know why it's not a pundit cliché. Maybe partly because over the years some of the exciting games have been in the second tier.
