DUBAI WAS BUILT ON DEBT — NOT MAGIC. NIGERIANS NEED TO UNDERSTAND THIS. Please SHARE this post. Counter the noise and propaganda. When people point at Dubai today, they see skyscrapers, luxury, and global influence. What they don’t see is the decades of strategic borrowing, risk-taking, and painful decisions that built it. Let’s talk In the 1950s and 60s, Dubai was a poor desert trading post, heavily dependent on fishing and pearling. When oil was discovered in 1966, reserves were actually very limited compared to neighbors like Abu Dhabi. That’s when Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum made a bold decision: Borrow heavily to build infrastructure BEFORE wealth arrived. He took loans to finance: - Port Rashid (1972) - Jebel Ali Port (1979) — now one of the largest ports in the world. - Dubai World Trade Centre (1979) At the time, many critics called it reckless. Why build massive infrastructure with money you don’t yet have? But Rashid understood something powerful: “Build it, and the economy will come.” Fast forward to the 2000s under Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum: Dubai doubled down on debt-funded expansion: - Emirates Airline expansion - Palm Islands - Burj Khalifa By 2009, Dubai faced a debt crisis of about $80 billion. Yes — $80 BILLION. They had to be bailed out by Abu Dhabi. Yet today? Dubai is: A global logistics hub A tourism powerhouse A financial center One of the most visited cities in the world. NOW LET’S BRING IT HOME When President Bola Ahmed Tinubu borrows to fund infrastructure, many Nigerians shout: “Why are we borrowing?!” But here’s the truth: Borrowing is not the problem. Misuse is. Every serious economy in the world has used debt to grow: United States — over $30 trillion debt . China — massive infrastructure debt model. Japan — over 200% debt-to-GDP. Debt becomes dangerous only when: It is stolen It is wasted on consumption It doesn’t create productivity But when used for: Roads Railways Power Ports Industrial zones It becomes a tool for national transformation. THE REAL ISSUE NIGERIANS SHOULD FOCUS ON? Not just “borrowing” — but: What exactly are we borrowing for? Are projects completed? Are they generating economic value? Are states using increased allocations wisely? Because here’s another fact: Since subsidy removal, states are receiving significantly higher FAAC allocations — yet many are not translating that into visible development. I Maximillian Chisom Ugoji hereby submit to you 😂 that (make I pretend to be a lawyer small), Dubai didn’t become Dubai by playing safe. It took: Vision Debt Risk Discipline Nigeria cannot develop on: Fear Sentiment Political shouting Everything no be politics o. We must demand accountability, not reject strategy. Because the truth is simple: No nation builds world-class infrastructure without borrowing. NONE. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is borrowing to build infrastructure and I support him with my full chest. Please SHARE this post. Ugoji Maximillian

God will punish whoever brought up the subject that PROVIDERS should share kitchen duties. 🤡 This young wife was threatening to smash the TV set because her husband was watching football. Her frustration was that he works all week, comes back the weekend and doesn't bother helping at the kitchen. If the issue were a lazy man who doesn't work or provide, yet spends so much time on football, I would have understood. But this innocent man is a provider, 🤴 Only God knows the stress level on him, The only weekend he gets to cool off, She won't let him. The only weekend he gets to be SERVED like a King for working so hard to provide, She insults him. Calling him all sorts of unprintable names even though he put the roof over her head and food in her stomach. Again, whoever bought up the subject that PROVIDERS should share kitchen duties with will not die well. Tell that to Non-Providers. Women who value their husbands as Kings will never want to see them anywhere near the kitchen. Unless for the times she's down or for those romantic moments where a man just wants to show off. It is for similar reasons men who value their wife as Queens work so hard to provide her with ease and comfort. Men sharing duties like nurturing children, changing diapers etc is nonnegotiable.. But demanding that a grown man who provides also share kitchen duties with you is clownery at its peak. If you need extra hand in the kitchen discuss options like hiring a made, stop reducing a provider’s role to slicing onions. Next, You'd ask him to wash plates? 🤡 This is what happens when you marry a woman who sees cooking as stress or serving her husband as slavery.. - I hate cooking, I will only cook for my husband,- Go and marry them fess. You'll suffer for 600Yrs. Every day, I bless God for the Quality of woman in my life. Cook. Clean. Serve is nonnegotiable. No man should settle for a fast food Barbie. 🤡 Class dismissed… ®️UNTAMED

Another episode of Nigerians are worse than the leaders they criticize everyday. So this lady made a video of their uncompleted house that they packed into and boom! Favour found her! Mazi Tunde Ednut posted her as well as other blogs. Williams Uchemba and Tonto Dike sent her 1M each and so many other good hearted Nigerians. Many business sent her household items, Foodstuffs, even cooked food as well as clothings in their quest to support her and her family. But as a typical Nigerian, we must always fall people’s hand and always try to look for a way to extort fellow Nigerians.🤦🏾‍♀️. This lady who enjoyed and is still enjoying massive support from Nigerians now told herself that she has become a brand influencer overnight and decided to start charging Nigerians to influence for their businesses 🤷🏽‍♀️. Just because she's trending Take a look at what she wants to charge people. Also trust Nigerians, they dragged her and the comment section was on fire that she decided to do five brand influencing for free. There’s something called ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’- as someone who is enjoying support from the public, it is also expected that she gives back to the same society she benefited from not to look for a way to start extorting from the same people who supported her in such a short period of time! And to crown it all she is busy calling ‘ElRoi’ What do you think? Is she right to want to start charging people for something she freely got during her most vulnerable time from other people? What are your thoughts? Share with us👇🏽

“I have 7 brothers and they call me everyday for money. My senior brother even went as far as asking me to send him 1 million, it affected my whole life, I sent my sister 1000 dollars to get a phone, 2days after, she called me again to send her money for her birthday photoshoot, it’s draining and you’ll just be working with nothing to show for it if you’re not wise as a man...” – Nigerian content creator and singer Carter Efe has opened up about the financial strain he faces from constant demands by family members.

My One Month Rent in the U.S. Is Equivalent to One Year Rent in Nigeria — Media Personality Lord Lamba Laments Nigerian comedian and content creator, Lord Lamba, has sparked reactions online after comparing the cost of rent abroad to housing expenses in Nigeria. In a video shared on social media, the skit maker expressed surprise at how expensive accommodation is overseas, revealing that his monthly rent outside Nigeria is equivalent to what many Nigerians pay for an entire year. According to him, the comparison made him realise that if he were living in Nigeria under the country’s common advance payment system, he would have already paid several years’ rent upfront. “Did you know that the rent here… mostly the rent is one year rent in Nigeria?” he said while explaining the difference in housing costs. Lamba added that a single month’s rent where he currently lives equals 12 months’ rent back home, joking that he would have paid “12 years’ rent in advance” if the payments were calculated using Nigeria’s yearly rent structure.
