Current Senate Standing Order Precludes Sen. Akpabio from Being Senate President - Oshiomhole
What Sen. Adeniyi Adegbonmire, SAN, said about the Senate Standing Order amendment is correct. That’s why I said the fight is not over. The current Senate President served a 4-year term, lost his reelection bid, served as a minister, and returned this term to become Senate President again. If you add his first term to his current term, he still has not served 8 years. If 8 years is the minimum requirement, Sen. Akpabio does not qualify to preside because he has not met it. If he assumed the role in error, that error must be corrected. Also, the word “consecutively” effectively reduces the Senate President’s term to three years for ranking purposes. These kinds of laws are what breed dictatorship in Africa.

Mr. @KwankwasoRM, if your "daughter" now has to tell you who to work for in 2027, then perhaps she, who obviously knows better than you, according to your own postulation, should be the one running for President. Clearly, you have become politically atrophied. Liars shall not make heaven! #AACOurParty

All this gaslighting no work.
Go and rewatch the interview, he said things has changed. That even in 2023 his daughter asked him, why not work with Obi.
The little girl knows far better than you, because this your 15k votes should be added to Obi. Don’t know what you’re doing with it.
Nobody considers you an aspirant.
Stick to activism with your yellow beret, stop throwing away the little respect they have for you.

FG Seeks Fresh $1.25bn World Bank Loan Ahead of 2027 Election
The Federal Government is seeking a fresh $1.25bn loan from the World Bank to support economic reforms, job creation, and investment growth.
The proposed facility, titled Nigeria Actions for Investment and Jobs Acceleration, is expected to be presented for approval on June 26, 2026, months before the 2027 presidential election.
If approved, the loan, estimated at about ₦1.7tn, would become one of the largest World Bank facilities secured under President Bola Tinubu’s administration and could push Nigeria’s total public debt above ₦160tn.
According to the World Bank document, the facility is designed “to support the government’s efforts to expand access to finance, digital, and electricity services, and strengthen competitiveness through tax, trade, and agriculture reforms.”
The report stated that the loan has reached the “decision meeting stage” of the World Bank approval process, indicating that negotiations and major conditions have largely been concluded ahead of final board approval.
“The review did authorise the team to appraise and negotiate,” the document added.
Findings showed that the World Bank has approved about $9.35bn in loans and credits for Nigeria between June 2023 and May 2026 across sectors including power, education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic reforms.
If the latest facility is approved, total World Bank approvals under Tinubu could rise to about $10.6bn.
Reacting earlier, the Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, warned that Nigeria could reject World Bank facilities if approval delays persist.
“If approvals take more than six months, the Nigerian Government may no longer honour such arrangements,” he said.
The World Bank, however, warned that the programme carries significant risks ahead of the 2027 elections, stating that “political and governance risks are elevated ahead of the 2027 elections, with pressures that could delay or reverse sensitive reforms.”

On this World Nurses Day, I would like to take a moment to appreciate all the nurses and midwives in our dear nation, who occupy a very special place and play very critical roles in our health sector. As one who has been on the vanguard of investing in our critical sectors of human and national development, I have always maintained that you, our dear nurses, are the heart of our health sector.
Over the years, I have traversed different corners of our nation supporting different schools and colleges of nursing and midwifery because I understand the inevitable role you play in our healthcare delivery. As you mark this special day, I wish to, firstly, thank you for all your efforts and sacrifices. Your compassion, sacrifice, and resilience keep our nation alive. And secondly, I wish to encourage you not to relent in your service to humanity. Nigerian nurses work under some of the toughest conditions with dignity and courage. From physical and mental stress to high patient-to-nurse ratios, to lack of equipment and poor working environments, your resilience keeps our health sector going.
And beyond the shores of the nation, our nurses have continued to make exploits on the global stage. From leading the next generation research in nursing practice to championing excellence in clinical practice—many Nigerian nurses have written their names on the sands of time and lifted our national banner high. I celebrate you all.
My firm commitment to you all remains this — we will build a New Nigeria where your hard work and sacrifices will never go unnoticed. We will invest in your education and training to ensure that you remain competitive on the global stage. Happy World Nurses Day to you all.
A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO
