There are few authors whose works bring me greater joy than Roger Zelazny's. Zelazny was a master of craft and style who could present in a terse style that seamlessly evolves into evocative prose without any awkwardness or jarring transitions. His strengths as a writer were myriad: incredible storytelling, plot development, vivid descriptions, character development, and boundless imagination in the creation of strange worlds—sometimes a shade different from our own; other times wholly alien. In The Chronicles of Amber, Zelazny exhibits all his strengths as a writer. It's almost frustrating to read him, because he seems to perform his craft so effortlessly. Are you a fan of RZ?

As a fan of classic RPGs, I can’t help but notice the changes to the power curve over the decades. When comparing modern editions to their classic editions of the ‘70s & ‘80s, PCs start at much higher power levels than they used. D&D is the most blatant example of this, but I see it also with other games (e.g., RuneQuest, Rolemaster, Pendragon, and Traveller). It’s interesting to note. Personally, I much prefer the classic approach. But I’m clearly in the minority and against the mainstream in this regard. #DnD #Pendragon #Traveller #RuneQuest #Rolemaster #ttrpg

In Georgia's state budget to be finalized today there is a $3 million line item to start an "Institute of Civic Thought and Leadership" at Georgia Tech. This would add Georgia to list of Southern states that have these "civics" arms of the university. #gapol
