I've been one of the loudest voices in the Senate fighting to stop blank-check U.S. taxpayer dollars from flowing to Ukraine. I single-handedly blocked quick passage of the $40 billion Ukraine aid package by denying unanimous consent and demanding an independent Inspector General for real oversight. I then voted NO on final passage. I introduced the Ukraine Aid Oversight Act to force proper auditing of every dollar sent so Americans know exactly where their money is going. I publicly vowed to block any government funding bill that included more Ukraine aid. I led a filibuster and used procedural delays to slow and oppose the $95 billion foreign aid package (which contained roughly $60 billion more for Ukraine), calling it “Ukraine First, America Last.”

I was just helping my kid with their high school Gov homework, and was astonished to learn the United States has a Congress.

Trump ended military support for Ukraine. It was a direct betrayal of the Budapest Memorandum. But now it gets even worse. European nations raised $750 million to buy U.S. weapons for Ukraine. The money will likely come from the Big, Beautiful Bill. Congress gave DHS $165 billion extra in that bill last year. The feds were already paying active duty Coast Guard members, 85 percent of ICE & CBP, 75 percent of Secret Service - without any funding being approved
