Never mind. It wouldn't impact you either way in Australia. Assuming you're even pretending to be a refugee or migrant from Iran, why wouldn't a new regime who allows dissidents to come back, repays, and rebuilds be better than killing everybody? That would take some type of negotiations OBVIOUSLY. The alternative is that our nation doesn't stop until Iran can never be a problem again. We've done the fake peace for a little while thing, and Americans are tired of having to spend BILLIONS to support and/or of sending ourselves and our children to war over there. So anything that would allow this to just happen again in 20, 40, 100... years is not a win. Iran becomes a state kind of total victory is what that would take. Or if we didn't want to drag it out because that would cause MAJOR domestic problems here, we would most likely just Iran turn to glass. Anything short of that takes some negotiating.
