the more i use claude code the less i understand why people like it. yall really live like this... and enjoy it? everything is just worse when you try to emulate a GUI inside a terminal using ASCII art. it's this weird experiment where you ask a bunch of 150 IQ designers and engineers to build the best app without using any of the software affordances invented in the last 20 years and watch just how many backflips they can perform in a row to recreate buttons and toggles. it's all very impressive, but feels terribly backwards?

This is where a thread I’m really interested in comes in, I believe true experts within their domains will at some point start learning to build and truly build the best of breed tools for their domains.

If you generate code, you can go in the IDE and edit it yourself manually. That’s deterministic. You change the value from X to Y.

I see the evolution of AI tools as the following. Stage 1 - Simple auto complete or auto suggest Stage 2 - Generation of an output Stage 3 - Generation of an output that is deterministically malleable
