2015: Left the first job right after college. 2016: Failed as a YouTuber. 2016: Failed as a freelancer. 2018: Launched the MVP of VEED. 2018: Went broke. Sold all crypto. 2019: Applied to YC. Rejected. 2019: Applied to YC. Rejected. Again. 2019: Thrown out of office space. 2019: Found first paying customer. 2021: Bootstrapped to $5M ARR. 2022: Raised money from Sequoia Capital. 2025: 10M+ monthly users. And we’re still just getting started. Still so much more to learn. As they say... You overestimate what you can do in a day and underestimate what you can do in a year.

@madeByMD2 Kept bashing my head against a wall for about two years until I finally figured it out.... Most people give up six months in. MRR is only for people who can get past that!

The founder who inspires me most isn’t Elon, Zuck, or Bezos. It’s James Dyson. He wasn’t the obvious genius. He studied art & built 5,127 failed prototypes before Dyson worked at 41. Most founder founder stories are about being extraordinary at a young age. Dyson’s story is about never giving up. We covered the startup lessons you can learn from him in the latest episode.
Sabba Keynejad@sab8a

By 41, James Dyson had failed 5,127 times. Most people would have quit... He started @Dyson instead and turned it into a multi-billion dollar empire. We broke down lessons every founder must learn from his story👇

Alright, this blew up!! Almost 1K bookmarks is insane. Didn’t expect that when I wrote it. I spilled everything I’ve learned about churn over the last 10 years. If you’re struggling with churn, give this a read.

Some amazing companies and people talked about: At 16:49 - Why @paulg says the best way to start a startup is to start one At 24:56 - How @TallyForms and @MarieMartens flipped form-builder pricing At 31:03 - Why nobody asked for @ChatGPTapp or @claudeai until they saw what was possible At 36:15 - How @netflix cannibalised its DVD-by-mail business before someone else did At 43:19 - How @Nike founder Phil Knight proves great companies can take 10–20 years to become obvious
