Why spend a week on a portfolio when I can make a video in 30 minutes? Looking for a badass designer? DM me now. Not hiring? Share this anyway

5. I ran the exact same prompt through two tools. Left: Portal (generate UI directly inside Figma). Right: Google Stitch. No manual edits. Same prompt. Even ignoring workflow issues, the output from Stitch just feels weaker and generic

4. Voice mode makes even less sense to me. In a normal chat, you can paste links, share images, show references. With voice, you lose all of that. It’s strictly worse for design work.

Google Stitch might be one of the most overhyped “design tools” I’ve seen in a while. 1.Stitch is not really a design editor. It’s a generator. If you want to change a button position, adjust spacing, or move an element, good luck, you have to re-prompt and regenerate the whole thing. Waiting a minute just to move a button is not the future of design. ⬇️

GUI no idea. Paper is cool, I like it. But it’s early-stage. Paper nice for hobby projects or fast experiments, sure. But 99% product design still lives in Figma, and probably will for a long time. Too much of the workflow, team collaboration, design systems, variables, and existing work already lives there. That’s basically the point of Portal for me: very similar AI canvas experience, but inside the tool teams already use.

@bbssppllvv @referodesign Why is it better to have Portal (and Figma) in the mix for design? Vs just using something like gui.new or paper as the middleware visual layer

My current AI workflow: - @referodesign MCP for design research - Portal for design (DM me for beta access) - Conductor for code - Obsidian for management love when tools start building themselves. Built the Portal site in a taxi with Claude + Portal

@bijancronin @referodesign Portal lets agents like Claude Code design in Figma for real, not just poke at the API. It can generate HTML/CSS-based UI, control the file, run custom scripts, and work with your design system. That’s what I’m building right now. DM me if you want private beta

Today, we’re introducing Cheats. Prompting has failed us. Most people don’t know what to type. AI unlocked a ton of skills for experts, but the rest of us kinda need a… cheat. Sound on!

AI agents can now work directly in Figma. I built Portal so they can create screens, edit existing files, manage your design system, insert assets, and fix their own mistakes by looking at screenshots. It feels like magic DM for beta access

@agispas @tpitre Very different approach. Most Figma tools have the model manipulate Figma directly via API. Portal has the model design in HTML/CSS first, then converts that into Figma, it is more native for ai

@mathiasduret What exactly is going wrong with the auth? In Claude Code, images/screens won’t render in the console UI, but Claude does have access to them and can use them for analysis, comparison, and whatever the task requires

@bbssppllvv I can get it to work through the demo page, but I can't get it to work in Claude despite my paid subscription. I can't get past the authentication. In Claude, are we supposed to see the screens or not?

We built a demo site so anyone can try Refero MCP It lets AI agents do real design research before generating UI, studying real product screens, user flows, patterns and more Play with it here: demo.refero.design

@bbssppllvv @luizmresende @figma @paper you actually can and it’s very powerful. i do this daily for creating and managing tokens. open figma in any chromium browser, tell claude code in terminal to connect via debug mode and use figma api through chromium instead of figma mcp. you’re welcome.

Am I crazy or can we still not connect an AI agent to @figma and actually design stuff?
