Boy, has former Green Beret Joe Kent turned into a gigantic disappointment. nypost.com/2026/03/17/us-… Early this morning, I learned that Kent has resigned from his job as head of America’s National Counterterrorism Center. The reason Kent gives is his opposition to President Trump’s military strikes against Iran. I supported Kent’s two unsuccessful runs for Congress, losing to Marie Perez. He would have been MY member of Congress in Washington’s 3rd district, so I voted for him twice. When he got the job heading up Counter Terrorism, I figured he was a perfect fit. Now, consider what Joe Kent just posted on social media in his resignation letter to President Trump: “Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation.” Excuse me! Iran has been planet Earth’s biggest state sponsor of terrorism for 50 years. They’ve pursued nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. They’ve funded terrorists like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthis that have killed Americans. Even if they never got the technology to deliver a nuke to the U.S., any nuclear-armed Iran would threaten to set off an exchange that could bring in the whole world. Not only that, but Joe Kent decides to resign right after three Islam and Iran-related domestic terrorist attacks on American soil in Texas, Michigan, and at Old Dominion University. And he’s resigned the Counterterrorism role even as the Democrat Party continues its Jihad against funding Homeland Security. Come to think of it, maybe we’re better off WITHOUT Joe in that job.
