Crecimiento exists with a clear mission: making Argentina one of the best places in the world to build the next wave of innovation. We do this through two pillars: - Ecosystem building - hackathons, education, startup programs, and community activation. - Policy work - proposing better regulatory conditions for innovation to thrive. A Digital Zone is a natural next step in this mission. We’ve spent over a year exploring how a zone could unlock growth for founders, improve regulatory clarity, and help attract talent and investment to the country. We’ve done all of this publicly, engaging broadly with the crypto ecosystem as a whole. Digital Zones, in Argentina or around the world, would require companies to build and run infrastructure and services. There are many other great initiatives, which we celebrate, that provide services to governments and help push the adoption forward. To accelerate this vision, we began fundraising from potential investors. There is no token launch. A token side letter was proposed by investors, as is standard in blockchain projects, to keep future options open; however, launching a token is not part of our current plans. We chose to do this through a startup structure to ensure operational capacity and long-term sustainability while the broader movement remains led by a non-profit foundation. Like every other startup, we recognize the challenges and risks to make this idea a reality. Quoting San Martín: "Es imposible, pero es imprescindible." We are building the best team for this purpose. Crecimiento has always operated with transparency and openness. We value and welcome different perspectives. Open debate makes the ecosystem stronger. Our commitment remains the same: to build transparently, collaboratively, and with the mission of empowering founders and unlocking Argentina’s full potential. No, un AI Data Center de OpenAI no va a destruir la Patagonia y el impacto ambiental es mínimo.
¿Por qué se habla del agua?
Porque normalmente estos AI Data Centers usan millones de litros de agua y el 98% de ese consumo se usa para enfriar los servidores. Estas placas levantan mucha temperatura, y mantenerlas frías es clave.
Pero en lugares fríos como la Patagonia, el consumo de agua se reduce más de un 90%.
Por eso Meta instaló un data center en Luleå, Suecia, casi en el Círculo Polar Ártico, justamente para usar el aire frío del exterior todo el año y prácticamente no consumir agua. Google hizo algo similar en Finlandia con el famoso “free cooling”, usando el aire y el agua del mar para enfriar.
Por el contrario, los servidores de Google en Iowa o Microsoft en Arizona, están en zonas calurosas y áridas, donde el aire seco y caliente no permite usar enfriamiento pasivo. Y el consumo de agua es inmenso porque no recircula y se termina evaporando en el proceso.
La Patagonia ofrece condiciones parecidas: Aire frío natural, baja humedad y es una zona de mucho viento asi que tenes energía eólica disponible.
Para ellos significa:
✅ Bajar el consumo de agua.
✅ Aprovechar energías renovables locales.
Para nosotros:
✅ Potencial para desarrollar infraestructura tecnológica nacional y generar miles de puestos de trabajo de calidad.
Si se hace bien, esta inversión no solo trae innovación, sino que puede convertir a Argentina en un hub sustentable de inteligencia artificial en el sur del mundo.

Si esto no te despierta la curiosidad por aprender un poquito de finanzas, no sé qué decirte.
Repetir el slogan de que se están llevando los recursos no te ayuda a aprender nada. Solo detiene las preguntas. Te mantiene en la misma vereda repitiendo las mismas narrativas.
No hace falta que banques al gobierno o cambies tu voto. Pero te va a ayudar a entender que, para bien o para mal, no están haciendo lo que hicieron otros. No es la misma receta y no son las mismas acciones.
Obviamente muchos lo van a llevar al terreno del River-Boca o Blanco y Negro porque cualquier cuestionamiento es demasiado doloroso.
Pero para los genuinamente curiosos, de cualquier color político, les cuento que el Tesoro Norteamericano salió a bancarnos de una forma histórica.
