POV: It’s just an SQL query… until it isn’t😭💻 When “DROP TABLE” slips through and suddenly your job, the data, and your dignity are all on the line. [Database Drama] [Tech Blunders] Tag your SQL buddy who double-checks every semicolon.👇 #SQLFail #DropTableGoneWrong

@1littlecoder "Meta’s Llama 4: ‘Open source’? More like open weight—code & data stay locked. Plus, it flunks basic DB2 SQL—WITH UR becomes CTEs? AI genius or overhyped cake with no recipe? Let’s call out the bluff! #AI #OpenSourceBluff #SQLFail"

Imagine being an AI agent that can't even crack a basic SQL injection... @TheGreatPupdini just tried to hack a database by typing 'please' and 'thank you' into the input field 💀 #SQLFail

Writing suboptimal Date and Time arithmetic queries? Your cloud database IOPS cost says, ‘Thanks for the bonus!’ 😂💸 Time is money, literally—optimize those queries before your budget runs out of ‘time’! ⏳#SQLFail #DatabaseOptimization #CloudCosts #DevHumor

Last quarter- web query runs across <1000 staff. This quarter- now add >13,000 students. Anyone want to guess what's happened to the query times? Or why I have the time to post this? #SQL #sqlfail

Temporary table names like "#bob" and "#gertrude" were probably a great idea when I was writing the script 12 months ago. Now? Not so much. #SQLFail

@sqldbawithbeard Oh, we had exactly that. Seems our ETL designers used a staging area that had no capacity to roll back when it encountered dodgy data, so *massive* full restore required. #sqlfail #etlfail

NEW statement from @iowademocrats -- "While the app was recording data accurately, it was reporting out only partial data. We have determined that this was due to a coding issue in the reporting system."

Important lesson from today's #SQLfail: when you're copying and pasting a line of code, make sure to copy the entire "VARCHAR(100)" instead of absentmindedly grabbing "VARCHAR" and calling it good enough. Oddly, that single-character default won't store entire words. Who knew?

Of course, this data is generated thru a *massive* stored procedure. 2,000 lines to get essentially 4 tables of 1 to 12 columns with no more than 10 rows each, for *only 10 clients.* #ThereIsMore #SQLFail
