SQL was established in the early 70s, it was called SEQUEL (Structured English Query Language). Due to copyright, it was changed it to SQL. SQL is typically pronounced “sequel” today, but some favor “ess-cue-el”, which do you prefer? #sqlhistory #SQL #tsql blog.ansi.org/?p=158690

@jdanton @mrdenny @SQLSocialite @ChrisAVWood You folks are really dating yourself. Joey and I talked before we boarded our plane to #MSIgnite SQL 4.2 LanMan OS/2. I was hired back then to debug trap-D crashes. We released SQL 4.2 for Windows NT in 1993. SQL 4.21 was our first release post-split from Sybase. #sqlhistory

Reviewing our enhancements in #sqlserver2022 for Query Store today. If you don't know Query Store, start with aka.ms/querystore. Then give a nod to the famous @SQLConor. I remember in mid- 2000s when Conor showed me the idea of "QDS" when I was in CSS. #sqlhistory
