@BatmanRouges Poison Ivy was an absolute nothing until BtAS. She only had a few comic appearances before then, and was never important in any way. The show gave her a huge push, but just like with Harley, the comic writers had no idea what to do with her outside of the TV show.

@BatmanRouges Who gives a Fuck moronabout her being a bat rogue? There ar ebarelt any female anti hero. Tell me another female anti hero that is as popular as poison ivy in DC.
English

@BatmanRouges ...she did just give vandel savage the power to hunt the batfamily down using any means necessary.
English

@BatmanRouges i miss when she was obsessed with batman. her not being obsessed worked in btas, but i always felt she was meant to be a hypocrite. i liked that she could love batman and had the power to be loved by anyone, even while claiming to hate mankind
English

@BatmanRouges DC has this problem with all three Sirens but it hit Ivy the hardest because she really does work best as opposition to Batman. Personally though I also miss Harley and even Catwoman as villains.
English

@BatmanRouges I hate what they have done to her since Harley Quinn.
English

@BatmanRouges Originally a minor villain that was made when DC wanted more female villains bc TV Catwoman got popular, but the combo of her ’88 Secret Origins tale & 90s BTAS turned it around for her & then she became an icon; but they always change it up with the old villains.
English

@BatmanRouges My unpopular opinion is that she is better as an anti hero who actually cares for the environment and has a kind reaction to kids.
Her actual villain time made her shallow, super sexualized to the point she acted like a sexual predador. It was quite fetished and dumb.
English

@BatmanRouges She’s become an anti-hero or more often (at least how I’ve noticed) Harley Quinn’s sidekick and it’s just so depressing
We also don’t have a lot of eco-terrorist villains
English

@BatmanRouges Straight up, Harley Quinn is the worst thing that ever happened to Poison Ivy for this very reason.
Ivy’s supposed to be a counter to Bruce’s self-righteousness - the character that makes Batman ask himself if he’s doing what he does for the right reasons. But if Harley Quinn -
English

@BatmanRouges There seems to be this thing with female villains where they can never just be evil all the time. There always has to be some kind of anti-hero arc, or they have some kind of ambiguous morality instead of just being straight up villainous
English

@BatmanRouges Yall are hilarious on this app. She isnt top 5
English

I don't agree. Ivy works on both ends.. she's a genuine tweener in wrestling terms. She can be a loveable badass but also be flat out awful too if it serves her like in Arkham Aslyum. But I love the current her with Harley. They are a great pair and really bring the best out of each other. Granted I do wish she'd be lowkey into/obsessed with the Bat too. She can be complex she's not cliched like some can be. The only honestly bad adaptation of her was sadly in her one movie live action version B&R. They wrote her as wacky from the start and Pam's never just insane and cruel. She was torturing plants and animals.. not Pam. Hoping she gets a redo eventually.
English

@BatmanRouges Hmmmmm i love pam a lot but i dont think she'd be top 5 honestly and even if you dont count catwoman in the rogues riddler takes that last spot. She DEFINITELY makes top 10 and is super iconic though. My top 5 would go like this
Catwoman
Joker
Two-face
Penguin
Mr Freeze
English

@BatmanRouges I think the problem is, a lot of people have a hard time disagreeing with her. Her methods aren’t the best (for lack of a better word), but she’s trying to “save” earth from ecological destruction and a lot of people find it hard to say that’s inherently evil
English

@BatmanRouges She’s #4 on my list of the ten greatest Batman rogues
English

@BatmanRouges I think what will be fitting is if Poison Ivy has some type of schizophrenia where she can only talk plants (the plants don’t really talk back to her but she thinks they tell her to do bad deeds)
English

@BatmanRouges She's an eco-terrorist. For all intents and purposes she was always an antiheroine.
English

@BatmanRouges I love her old characterization so much but I miss that with all major bat villains from joker, Harley, Ra’s etc. Genuinely an amazing and complex villain
English

@BatmanRouges It’s a great episode but the worst thing that ever happened to her character was the Thelma & Louise takeoff with Harley. It did a lot of damage to both characters in the long run.
English

@BatmanRouges I love Poison Ivy when she is the most unhinged and passionate about her cause. I think her character can represent how even people trying to do the right thing can quickly lose their sanity if they don’t check on themselves mentally.
English

@BatmanRouges She should be a Bruce Wayne villain, more than a Batman villain
English

@BatmanRouges Climate change has gotten to the point that it's getting harder and harder to make Poison Ivy purely a villain
English

@BatmanRouges Yeah, I actually miss Poison Ivy as a villain. I feel like DC is stretching the anti-hero designation really thin and being overreaching in who it should apply to. At least she's evil in Absolute Batman.
