The new cursor 2 update you guys released is good but one problem is having to start over chat when I downloaded it… this made me lose soo much money as the new chat ai had to relearn where we was and also have to do extra research to make sure it’s not messing up lol it’s costing a lot just to get the ai back in track..

the plugin list is interesting but the security surface is the real story. giving your coding agent simultaneous access to Slack, Stripe, PagerDuty, and your database means one bad prompt injection in a code comment could theoretically exfiltrate to any connected service. MCP servers in terminal agents have this same problem but at least you can audit the JSON going over the wire. does the marketplace do any sandboxing between plugins or is it full trust once installed?

@cursor_ai Plugin marketplaces are how IDEs become platforms. The real question is whether Cursor can avoid the VS Code extension graveyard problem where 90% of plugins get abandoned after 3 months. Curation > quantity.
