For decades, the $50B market data industry was controlled by middlemen. Institutions generated the data, vendors repackaged it, and access stayed locked behind closed terminals. That model is starting to change. Today, Fidelity, Euronext, Tradeweb, SGX FX, OTC Markets Group, and EDI chose @PythNetwork as their onchain distribution layer with the launch of the Pyth Data Marketplace. This is the first time these institutions have made their proprietary datasets available through blockchain infrastructure, and that is the real story. We’re not just talking about crypto price feeds. This includes some of the hardest-to-source corners of global finance: spot FX, precious metals, crude swaps, ETF iNAVs, fixed income, OTC pricing, and reference data. What makes this launch powerful is not only the names involved, but what it changes. Instead of relying on legacy vendors, institutions can now distribute data directly to a global network spanning 100+ blockchains and 700+ applications, while retaining full control over attribution, pricing, and ownership. This is what real TradFi adoption looks like. Not watching from the sidelines. Not just exploring blockchain. Actually choosing onchain rails as a primary distribution channel. To me, this feels bigger than a normal product launch. It feels like the beginning of a new standard for how financial data moves globally
