-Leveling punishes you, better of carding enemies to actually have an advantage against enemies
-Junction system is not great
-Draw system gets old real fast, worse on replays
-Better off not using magic because of both previous points.

@geofftrainwreck With the same approach as the story & game length, Knights of the Round will be a 1 hour long cut scene, it will give context to each of the knights along with backstory and why they fight every time you summon them.

If Knights of the Round doesn't cause me to go deaf for 90 seconds every time I summon them, then the entire trilogy was a failure

@MagumoKawasaki @ptprotagonist I found a video that encapsulates most my gripes & I even just learned you can skip to better gear from this video. You know what has loops as well, Dark Souls, & it isn't so silly.Nothing in SoP is tastefully done, even though they almost did combat wise

@12are12 @ptprotagonist A game about time loops and you worried about fist bumps being goofy, like time loops are not goofy as it is. Especially with SoP cause it about breaking one loop to start the loop of FF1.

@MagumoKawasaki @ptprotagonist Yes, they retroactively give a plot, just like FF7R is doing, is it necessary? no, FF1 and FF7OG game did more than fine, FF1 saved the company. Did SoP do fine? No, I bought it for 5 bucks because it was overstocked. More dialogue ≠ better.

@12are12 @ptprotagonist Thr game literally gives a plot to garland and his time loop, the Lunafairians that have like 2 lines of dialog mention in the OG ff1 and gives reason for the warriors of light, and yet you trying to say it don't touch on FF1. Ok dude.

@MagumoKawasaki @ptprotagonist Before you respond do remember that FF1 was more serious in tone and came as close to souls games that if someone said souls was inspired by it I wouldn't even quiestion it. You look at how SoP was handled and it comes off as a joke, trust that I'm not the only one that sees this

SF to FF? it's not helping that SF has embraced the goofyness meanwhile this is a FF game that supposed to be dark and "soulslike" meanwhile failing at both. Why is the princess so out of place in this game like thew fist bump in question?

@MagumoKawasaki @ptprotagonist You're covering such a small aspect of my gripes that as I said, even if there is a plot, aka a reason for the bad acting on HIS part, it doesn't excuse anything. For a game related to FF1 they really missed the mark and had so much to work with.

@FutureTrunks382 This is also why you have a split fan base of final fantasy 7 & the franchise as a whole. It’s crazy how much more cinematic focused the games became while also becaming less serious. I’m not sure who these games are supposed to appeal to anymore & I think FF16 is a good example.

I think people that weren’t old enough to experience FFVII when it came out will never understand. You cannot put into worths what that game did for the industry & JRPG genre from that point on. FFVII was the STANDARD. #FinalFantasyVII

@12are12 @MagumoKawasaki I mean… I need to hold your hand while I say this, but being cinematic been the norm since the OG 7, when they made one of the first 3D JRPG’s. So saying that the new games are more “cinematic” is ???
If anything, everything from XIII-2 onwards started to focus more on gameplay

@MagumoKawasaki @ptprotagonist Pains me to say but there’s a huge disconnect in the fan base & a lot has to do with the direction SE chose to take the games in with more cinematic experiences over gameplay focus & it shows as they’re struggling to recover.

@MagumoKawasaki @ptprotagonist Just because there’s a plot doesn’t mean it’s a good one.The v/a & art direction as a whole are awful, along with the cringe fist bump with Astos. FF1 had minimal dialogue and delivers an amazing experience, similar experience that souls games seem to deliver & come close in tone
