@Carter_Shade Overall size and a lack of a backup 4/5 kills them

Minny leads the playoffs with a 76.6% DREB rate. Cavs with double bigs are at 74.6, which would be 2nd overall. With Allen off, it crashes to 61.8. With Mobley off it crashes to 62.9. Both would be dead last. Cavs have to figure out how to score with two bigs or board with one.

The adjustments Mike Brown made the last 3 games were impressive. Didn't know he had it in him. Kenny for 5 games hasn't really made great adjustments imho. A little disappointing

@realcavsfans This isn’t a “Wade vs Strus” war or a “Allen to the bench cause he sucks” thing JH/DM/MS/DW/EM are +37.9 in limited minutes this series. Use it more JA could also help the secondary units with rebounding and rim protecting. There’s lineups w/o Wade where he can be successful

@realcavsfans I understand where you’re coming from. The lack of a true back up 4/5 makes it hard and that’s where we need Dean. I’m not trying to shame any of the players. If coach can’t figure out an adjustment then there’s lineups more prepared to beat the adjustments made by Tor

Strus in starting lineup: -11 (92 oRTG) Wade with Mobley: +3 Wade with Allen: +1 Second units were better but first unit was saddled by a rough start. Imagine Kenny sticks with Strus in G6, and hope his offense picks back up and team starts better.

@realcavsfans I disagree. They had like 11 points in the first 7 minutes of game 4. Kenny wanted to add spacing, cutting, and an additional ball handler to help Harden and Mitchell. Wade moving to the bench benefited other lineups but the move was at least 90% about the starters

@2016ChampsCLE The Strus/Wade swap wasn't about the starting lineup as much as it was about the secondary lineups.

@realcavsfans If they are playing 10-14 mpg together I disagree on the first point Overall, my point is that Strus or Wade aren't the issues with the starting line-up rn Certainly. Ideally, the coach would make adjustments but he really hasn't. At least none that benefit JA+EV together

@2016ChampsCLE They are staggered about as much as they can be right now. Simply saying it doesn't work, change the lineup is a bit flippant. Mobley + Allen minutes have also all come with Mitchell. Any chance the difference in Mitchell G1/G2 vs G3/G4/G5 is clouding those numbers?

@realcavsfans Exactly. “The bigs just haven’t been good together”.. Toronto changed their plan and we haven’t adjusted how we attack. If Kenny can’t design something to make them offensively efficient together, then just change the lineup. 89.9 off rating in the last 3 games and stagger them

Allen is only averaging 26 minutes per game so that's about half the time. Mobley can't play all 48 minutes so of course the 12-13 minutes he's not on the floor, Allen is going to be on the floor thus the split. First two games they were a +26 together. Last three games it's a -26. You tie it pretty closely to how the Raptors have defended the Cavs and their lack of adjustments. Allen is less useful offensively if you're not involving him in P&R, taking advantage of the post-up mismatch and not using him at the elbow. Mobley is less useful offensively if you're not using him as a ball-handler, and is relegated to being a spacer. The Cavs have not challenged the way the Raptors have adjusted to guarding them and its relegated to the bigs being guard dependent which is part of the reason why in the split efficiencies.

@realcavsfans Sometimes matchups happen. Probably the reason they’ve only played an average of 12 min a game the last 3. It’s Kenny’s job to figure why it’s happening and correct or change the lineup

@2016ChampsCLE The real question is how, why or in what way? +8.7 in 600+ minutes is not nothing or suddenly erased in 5 games.

Cavs fan(or NBA fan) question. I have had a lot of text chains going where the majority agree. I know we live in the numbers only age, human emotions-momentum etc do no exist. Do you think Dennis' attitude/intensity on D was contagious last night

@realcavsfans The core 4 lineups were -37.5 net yesterday. The two bigs just haven’t been good this series together. The real solution to the starting lineup is likely removing Allen for Wade. Not likely Harden, Mitchell, Strus, Wade, Mobley are +37.9 net but only 8 minutes together

@realcavsfans Blows my mind how this lineup stinks. Felt like the core 4 wasn’t very good today which certainly contributes. Allen and Mitchell had the worst +/- in the game

Huge win tho! If Wade shot 10 times as a starter he’d likely keep that spot 😂. Strus and Merrill (+19) were out there busting their ass for everything. Dennis was big time. Tyson had his best game. It was an AMAZING bench game. Need it. Finish these guys in Toronto, eh?

36-year old Harden played 39 minutes in a must win playoff game 29-year old Mitchell played 31 minutes. What is going on with Mitchell? Is there an injury? Is he tired? Is Kenny awful at getting him back in? I’m genuinely confused #LetEmKnow

Mobley still stinky at the FT line but 23/9/1 with 3 blocks. People swear this man is a bust or not good LOL #LetEmKnow

Why are we making this way more stressful than it needs to be??? If Raptors hit any of the 3 wide-open corner threes we gave them we’d be in serious trouble. Need one stop here or no three
