@WarClandestine You’re a buffoon. If Russia or China attacked mainland US then do you not know EU based US bases along with NATO forces would respond in kind all across Europe. Who came running to help after 9/11? Do US citizens have their brains removed at birth so you can obey Orange lunatics?
English

Every time I criticize NATO, all the bots come screaming “iTs A dEfEnSiVe AlLiAnCe!”.
Yeah, no shit. And who does the defensive alliance benefit? Everyone but the US.
If Russia or China attack us, you think the UK or France is gonna save us? No. It’s gonna be the US Military.
If Russia or China attack Europe or Canada, who do you think is coming to save the day? It’s sure as shit not going to be the UK or France. It will be the US Military.
So effectively, NATO is just security benefits for Europe and Canada, and the US taxpayer foots the bill for all security in North America and Europe.
Not for much longer.

@WarClandestine Why are Americans so obsessed with getting attacked by other countries? Some kind of victim fetish?
Why should China attack the USA? Japan tried it by attacking some island thousands of miles away from the mainland and look how it went.
Think China would be so dumb?
English

@WarClandestine Another moronic American. It is in both the US and Europes best interest to stay in NATO equally
Even if Trump does put the final nail in the coffin of US foreign policy, NATO will still have nuclear deterrence which makes an invasion of a NATO country extremely unlikely

@JezCorden Very lame. I think back to Matt Booty’s interview from like 2021 about how this game would get the AAA treatement. Yet another bait and switch by Xbox.

State of Decay 3 interview details offer our best glimpse at the game yet.
No zombie animals though, lame.

@tak_guitarLove I work for a large Japanese company in the US. You’d be getting a corrective action for that kind of behavior. 😅

A Japanese correspondent described the tense atmosphere in the Oval Office at the start of the press conference.
“The first thing that struck me when I entered the Oval Office was the sheer presence.”
“Virtually all of the key figures from the Trump administration were there: President Trump, Vice President Vance, Secretary of State Rubio, Defense Secretary Hegseth, Treasury Secretary Bessent, and behind them, Commerce Secretary Lutnick, among others.”
“It truly felt like all the main players had assembled. The sense of pressure was overwhelming. I think the Japanese side felt the same way. At the same time, it also reflected how significant Japan’s presence is to the United States, not just in diplomacy and defense, but across economic and other areas as well.”

As someone who really likes a lot of indies, please don’t let Firewatch be your North Star.

@lastchalice I look back on the Xbox One more fondly than the Series consoles. It had a good lineup of games its first few years. Despite fizzling out, Game Pass and the One X kept the platform compelling.

The reveal of the Xbox One will be burned in my memory forever.
I was on a business trip out of town, but was committed to watching the press conference as it aired. As a huge Xbox and Xbox 360 fan my mind was already made up, I was choosing Xbox once again as my main platform.
My cell phone didn’t have the greatest signal and the stream cut out for a few moments, when it came back the video shot forward and I saw the name “Xbox One” written across the screen. I was caught off guard, as it was the last name I expected. It didn’t sound particularly great, but I thought “who cares about the name.” As the conference proceeded it was one shock after another.
An extreme focus on television, sports and Kinect, three things I cared little about. What was there regarding video games was sparse and the entire event left me not knowing how to feel.
Publications started to release new details, interviews were conducted and the headlines were out. This was an always online device focused on multimedia with a mandatory inclusion of the Kinect peripheral. It was recommended that you buy an Xbox 360 if you didn’t have an internet connection. The PR was in shambles and the hype began to dissipate.
Weeks later the price was revealed. For $500 the console had weaker specs than the competition and none of the focus on mandatory online or Kinect was walked back in any way. They doubled down. We’re it not for these major issues, many may have noticed what was actually a pretty great E3 showcase focused on games.
In the end, Sony pulled out all of their cards and won over the industry at large. Microsoft was forced to backtrack and by the time the console released I had convinced myself to stick with the brand. There were a lot of great experiences and a lot was done to put Xbox on a path to success. The Xbox Series generation continued that good will for a little while, but before long things started to trend downward again.
It’s hard to believe how one critical moment can deal such a devastating blow. There were a series of both wise and head scratching decisions made in the decade or so that followed, but all of the issues stemmed from this specific place in time. The brand truly never recovered, and that brings me no joy.
