@WildG_F They claim to be copyright related, but honestly anything they can associate to their IPs gets striked. They tried to sue a JP company for having pokeball-like mechanics, tried to sue an EU companu for having mario galaxy aesthetic, and so e.g Brazil has the biggest amount (1/2)

@WildG_F I can take Square Enix doings for those reasons but Nintendo has to many unrelated lawsuits, refusal to localize titles and even outrageous pricing to excuse them as “just worried”. Biggest IP in the world and a singular Mario game can cost 1/3 of the avg income in some countries

So yeah. TL;DR: Nintendo (or any JP company) can't risk losing their entire business in their nation, so they're literally betting their life on making sure nothing is happening outside of their hand. You just gotta suck it up, unless you buy them out. Ende.

@hellspatisserie アメリカの企業に対する不信感には同情するけど、その価値観を日本に押し付けないで欲しいな。日本の企業は海外の終わってる企業と比べたら遥かにマシだから。 仮に日本の企業を通じてクリエイターに渡るお金が少なくても、海賊版はクリエイターに１円も払わないし、結局は海賊版より公式の方が良い。

You’re saying is that if Nintendo decided so, I would be infringing their rights by illegally distributing. That’s a discussion for japan to have as a society

@3mxbm @_Ray_mh 日本人と外国人の論争と見てたんだけど、日本と外国ではかなり感覚が異なるみたい。日本では「製作者の権利」が何よりも優先され彼らがNOといえばいつだってNOにできるしそれを尊重するべきだし法律的にもそうなっているんだ。特にオンラインのものは保有権ではなくただ遊ぶ権利を付与してもらう認識

@lastresort548hw @_Ray_mh i've read a couple of sentences mentioning how it shows lack of morals but morals are a societal value that fluctuates along generations, even when a moral value is adopted by majority, it evolves when a society progresses. few centuries ago tsumebara was morally okay in japan
